I'm not sure what my additional question is, nor do I have a picture at the ready.

Name: Briggins
Age: 29 (apparent 23)
Three Bands you like: These days it's all Yo La Tengo, Clem Snide, Destroyer
Favorite movie: The Royal Tenenbaums
Favorite book: Middlesex
Favorite comic strip: XKCD or The Far Side
Which goonie would you want to share a studio apartment with?: Andy.  If I ever said anything else, I was not thinking the question through.
Hobbies: Writin' songs, cookin' foods, takin' pictures, writin' other things.
Sillls/hobbies you wish you had: Designing Lego replicas of stuff. Developing pictures. Building/refinishing furniture, playing piano and banjo.
Last CD you bought: Love is Not What You Need by Sad Brad Smith.
Was it any good?: It's great.
Favorite poem:  I like Donne. Some W.C. Williams.  In Memoriam, even though it's a mess.
Best popsicle flavor:  Swirl puddin' pop. Or dreamsicle.
Favorite instrument: Guitar
Favorite word: Bioluminescence
Favorite word for kiss: Makeouts
Picture: N/A
Favorite episode, any Star Trek series: The one where picard makes that sandwich and eats it while he's talking about Banquo's assassination.
What is your job title and where do you work? I'm a Registration Specialist at a large national online university, a Tax Specialist at a nationally-known tax prep company, and a freelance technical/marketing writer.
Which answer is going to embarrass you the most when you see this in seven years? Probably the picture.
What is the primary theme of your dwelling decor?: Squalor
What is your favorite meal?: You must be kiddin'.  The last thing that I claimed I'd be okay with as a last meal was a char dog with everything, a couple of other sausages (most specifically a teuben and a swedish potato sausage with havarti dill cheese and spicy mustard) from Hot Dougs, along with some fries and a coke.  Yesterday I decided a giant order of pad thai and potstickers from Spoon Thai was pretty sollid.
What are the names and species of pets in your life?: None right now. RIP both dogs named Abby who were awesome.
If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live?: Probably Chicago.  In a nicer apartment with a parking space, a garbage disposal, a big shower, and an exhaust fan in the kitchen.
What part of your appearance do you like best? My eyes.
When was the last time you sat next to a bonfire of some sort?: In October, when my best friend came home from Iraq for a weekend.
Has your relationship status changed since the last questionnaire, and if so, how?:  //
How much sleep do you need to be at your best?: All of it.  Probably 9 hours is the sweet spot.
Do you like Ani Difranco?: Yeah, but I don't really ever listen to her.
Name a childhood hero/heroine: Yogi Bear
What's your main creative pursuit, if you have one: Writin' songs.

Childhood Hero: Tintin, and all my exciting older cousins.
Main creative pursuit: I was going to say writing scripts and drawing, which I do, and which mean a lot to me, but for real the creative pursuit I spend most time on even though it matters to me less, is cooking.

I'm bored and I never did this before, so:

Name: Alexandra
Age: 23
Three Bands you like: Elephant Micah, De Kift, John Tilbury (not my favourites - hard to narrow it down to three - but the first three I wanted to put down here)
Favorite movie: I don't really do movies. Um, The Life of Brian?
Favorite book: I feel obliged to say Homage to Catalonia, so as to not contradict my statement earlier today. And, you know, I could live with that. Other picks that I could definitely live with: If on a Winter's Night a Traveler by Italo Calvino, Liquidation by Imre Kertesz, Doktor Faustus by Thomas Mann, countless others.
Favorite comic strip: all-time: Asterix. currently: Dinosaur Comics.
Which goonie would you want to share a studio apartment with? I don't know the Goonies, but I take it from other people's replies that one of them is called Data. Is Data anything like the one in Star Trek? If so, that one. If not, can I just move in with the android one?
Skills/hobbies: I've been making a lot of mix CDs lately. Some of them turned out real nice.
Skillls/hobbies you wish you had: some kind of sense of rhythm or melody would be nice, I guess. Speaking Hungarian.
Last CD you bought: the "Modern Containment" series from Three Lobed Recordings.
Was it good? I haven't even listened to all of them yet, but the Wooden Wand and Kinski CDs are definitely great. Everything else seemed nice so far too.
Favorite poem: Probably Rilke's Stundenbuch (esp. the first book, and if I really have to narrow it down to one poem, maybe the one starting "Du, Nachbar Gott..."), but I'm not sure I am comfortable admitting that in public. Paul Celan's Sprachgitter or Todesfuge, maybe?
Best popsicle flavor: lemon-raspberry
Favorite instrument: Guitar, tabletop, tabletop guitar. Also, piano, prepared piano.
Favorite word: luchtfietserij (which is Dutch and literally means "cycling in the air", the closest translation is probably "building castles in the air". But, you know, the Dutch term refers to bicycles, and bicycles are cooler than castles.)
Favorite word for kiss: Kiss is quite good, really. Better than anything my own native language has to offer, anyway.
Picture:

Name: Alexandra
Age: 28
Three Bands you like: Mickey Newbury, Leonard Cohen, Elephant Micah - I guess I'm not so much into bands, strictly speaking.
Favorite movie: I watch a lot more of these now than I did last time I filled this out, but I still don't feel qualified to answer this. I usually end up kind of liking whatever I'm watching, somehow.
Favorite book: The Third Policeman, maybe.
Favorite comic strip: Asterix, definitely.
Which goonie would you want to share a studio apartment with?:  I don't want to live in a studio apartment, and I don't know the goonies.
Hobbies: Cooking, baking, music listening, reading, that sort of thing. I regret that I no longer do as much of the latter two as I used to, but not deeply enough that I consistently do more of it.
Skills/hobbies you wish you had: Gardening. Being a less picky eater.
Last CD you bought: Blue Ice Pick by Kazuki Tomokawa
Was it any good?: yes!
Favorite poem:  I've kind of come to accept that poetry is not really for me, but Rilke's Stundenbuch is still very dear to me.
Best popsicle flavor: raspberry-lemon
Favorite instrument: Acoustic guitar, but mostly if it's finger-picked. I get most excited whenever I encounter a double bass or pedal steel.
Favorite word: indeed
Favorite word for kiss: Kiss.

Favorite episode, any Star Trek series: TNG The Inner Light
What is the primary theme of your dwelling decor?: IKEA, I'm afraid to say.
What is your favorite meal?: chestnuts roasted at home in the oven, on a cold autumn day. Any other time of the year, a good curry with naan.
What are the names and species of pets in your life?: I always try (and sometimes succeed) to hang out with the neighbourhood cats, but I have yet to learn their names.
If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live?: Vienna
Answer that will embarrass me in 7 years: I don't know, but I know the answer right above this one is the one that would embarrass a 7-years younger me the most.
What part of your appearance do you like best? I don't feel particularly strongly about any part of my appearance, one way or the other.
When was the last time you sat next to a bonfire of some sort?: Last Easter.
Job title, workplace: Post-doctoral researcher at Maastricht University.
Has your relationship status changed since the last questionnaire, and if so, how?: I was single then, I am not now.
How much sleep do you need to be at your best?: I can usually function okay after a night or two of 5 or 6 hours sleep, but if consistently get less than 7 or 8 hours, it gets to me after a while. I don't usually feel like I'm at my best regardless of sleeping hours, though.
Do you like Ani Difranco?: She always seemed pretty cool, but I'm not terribly familiar with her stuff.
Name a childhood hero/heroine: my older brother
What's your main creative pursuit, if you have one: I don't really, except perhaps for the occasional mix CD. Coming up with questions for people to answer isn't it, in any case.

Name: Jean-Yves
Age: 23
Seven bands you like: Bob Dylan, Spokane, The Handsome Family, The New Pornographers, Lisa Germano, Leonard Cohen, Frog Eyes.
A favorite movie: The Trouble With Harry
A favorite book: Le vaillant petit tailleur by Eric Chevillard, or nearly anything I've read by Thomas Bernhard
Favorite comic strip: Calvin and Hobbes, Greg Nog (duh!)
Which Goonie would you want to share a studio apartment with?: I don't have a clue.
Skills/hobbies: Same as everyone here, I think - endlessly surfing the Internet. That would be hobby. As for skills, I can write pretty well, I think (in French, that is)
Skills/hobbies you wish you had: Being better in German, knowing Portuguese, writing tons of job applications without wanting to die a brutal death (skills) - some kind of physical activity (hobbies)
Last CD you bought: It was an LP, but whatever: The White Stripes - Icky Thump
Was it good?  It's pretty good! Especially "Little Cream Soda"
Favorite poem: I really don't know.
Best popsicle flavor: I really don't know.
Favorite instrument: I have a weakness for banjoes.
Favorite word: currently "estouffarasse", a Southern dialect word meaning "heat"
Favorite word for kiss: kiss, I think.
Picture: I don't even really like this one, and it's three years old, but it perfectly sums up what I spend most of my time doing, so:

Name: Jean-Yves
Age: 28
Three Bands you like: The Fall, Kazuki Tomokawa, Bob Dylan
Favorite movie: Gee, I have no idea. Maybe Scenes from a Marriage (Bergman)
Favorite book: Let's say Old Masters by Thomas Bernhard
Favorite comic strip: Achewood these days
Which goonie would you want to share a studio apartment with?:  Five years later, no progress on that question
Hobbies: Watching movies/TV shows, going out to see live music, bike rides, travelling around, cooking, reading. I should work on inserting something less predictable into this list!
Skills/hobbies you wish you had: I wish I had a better sense of rhythm and better body coordination so that I could consider learning an instrument again! Singing would also be nice. Lots of things, really
Last CD you bought: Zammuto (self-titled record)
Was it any good?: I wouldn't know, as I have only just received it in the mail
Favorite poem:  I don't know! Don't read much poetry, sadly.
Best popsicle flavor: Still never had that.
Favorite instrument: Still the banjo, although thanks to a few great drummers (Jim White in particular) I've come to really appreciate the drums over the past few years
Favorite word: I'm drawing a blank right now
Favorite word for kiss: Kiss.

Favorite episode, any Star Trek series: I have never seen any Star Trek, barring the occasional two minutes while channel-hopping
What is the primary theme of your dwelling decor?: IKEA, I'm afraid to say.
What is your favorite meal?: Bibimbap and pizza are two strong contenders.
What are the names and species of pets in your life?: Ming, cat (and Raoul, cat)
If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live?: Too many enticing options, I think. I would have said Lisboa, maybe, but it just gets too hot in the summer over there. For access to friends/things to do, Paris.
Answer that will embarrass me in 7 years: Maybe the poem answer, since in 7 years I'll have read tons of poetry. Right?
What part of your appearance do you like best? None.
When was the last time you sat next to a bonfire of some sort?: I can't remember.
Job title, workplace: Self-employed translator.
Has your relationship status changed since the last questionnaire, and if so, how?: Good question. Thanks for asking!
How much sleep do you need to be at your best?: Seven or eight. I don't think I've been at my best in a while though - I get by anyway.
Do you like Ani Difranco?: I've never listened to her
Name a childhood hero/heroine: Hercule Poirot
What's your main creative pursuit, if you have one: I write, both as part of my job and outside of it. Often moderately creative, but I think it counts!
What was your closest encounter with food hell: Perfect Fried Chicken, Dalston Lane, London

That's fair enough. Even when I have songs stuck in my head, it's usually not so much a melody, but rather a particular cadence of speech, a particular line spoken or sung in a particular way. On a written page though, I find it much, much easier to relate to prose than to poetry.

So I've decided to dedicate my five hundredth post to introducing myself. Hi, everybody!

Name: Arlo
Age: 36
Seven bands you like: Bowie, Costello, Will Oldham, The Hold Steady, Spoon, Ted Leo, Springsteen
A favorite movie: I'd like to say A Moment of Innocence, but I'm going to say Big Trouble in Little China instead.
A favorite book: Remembrance of Things Past. Seriously. Best book ever. And then the Critique of Pure Reason and then the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Favorite Comic Book: Never really read no comix. Ghost World was a fine film, if that counts.
Which Outsider would you want to share a studio apartment with? Never read it. Never saw Goonies, either.
Skills/hobbies: I do crazy amounts of yoga these days, but that's not really a hobby, because I only do it because I am very, very old (see above) and have to stay thin and gorgeous somehow. Most of my entertainment is passive - listening to music, watching movies & TV-on-DVD, on bit of a sabbatical from reading... Does drinking count as a hobby?
Skills/hobbies you wish you had: I kinda don't understand the question.
Last CD you bought: Most recently ordered = Tokumaro Shugo L.S.T., most recently received = Marnie Stern In Advance of the Broken Arm.
Was it good? Yes, they both are.
Best popsicle flavor: Honestly, I think I'll pass on the popsicles.
Favorite instrument: I don't play, but I think it's impossible to have a truly unlistenable song if there's a banjo in it.
Favorite word: In my first year English class, we had to write a review of a story about a man who threw himself from a window, and one of my greatest regrets in life was failing to use the word "defenestrate" in what God clearly intended as my only legitimate opportunity. I'll make myself a second chance now, and pretend my favourite word is "defenestrate".
Favorite word for kiss: Tonsil hockey
Picture: I live in a world almost entirely without photographs (which is odd, since professionally I am building a multimedia research repository, which you'd think would include photos, them being all multimedia and like that), so I don't have one to offer. Sorry.

Name: Arlo
Age: 41
7 bands you like: freestyling this one: the new Julia Holter is good; Miranda Lambert was the last thing I heard on my iPod today, and she's pretty awesome; J. Roddy Walson and The Business were great live, so we'll include them; tUnEyArDs had my favourite album from last year; I'm still a little crushing  on the Weather Station woman; I'll keep Will Oldham, and then realistically I think what's his name, Joanna Newsom's ex-boyfriend, is probably the best songwriter around right now. That's seven.
I think I'll keep my movies and books. Was it hannah who agrees with the Proust? It was someone.
Last CD I bought: CD-specific answer - the new Melissa Stylianou. New Yorkers who want to see great vocal jazz for cheap should go see her. She's wonderful, and I was sad when she moved south.
I don't knowthat I'd update the other questions. As has been noted, I'm very old and set in my ways.

Favourite ST episode: Right this instant I'm going with the DS9 where the good guys are about to create the shield to keep the Dominion fleet on their side of the wormhole and it's a nailbiter whether they will get it up in time and then...
Apartment theme. I don't know, I've got a couple nice lamps, I've got some fish in a fireplace.
Favourite meal: yesterday's roti (east Indian, although the west Indian stuff is aaight too) was brilliant. Saag paneer,
Pets: they're in the fireplace.
Where would I live: I lik it here, although I also like New York, Montreal, Portand...
Answer that will embarrass me in seven years. Eh, i'll probably be okay with all of them
Job title, workplace: Senior Business Analyst, Performance Advantage Consulting. Basically I try to help compnies use their information technology better.
Favourite poem: The Divine Comedy
Has your relationship status changed: no, still wildly unpopular.
How much sleep do you need: lots, I do need the eight.
Ani Difranco: yes, I mostly have her live recordings, which tend to be great.
Childhood hero: I don't know, but I did watch a lot of Star Trek...

Man this is taking a long time, I should have done this earlier.

Creative pursuit: nothing really, I tried to take up a little guitar, but I do too much yoga and the cumulative stress on my wrist was bad.
Closest encounter with food hell: i am Facebook friends with a devil chicken, that should count
People you wish would come back: girl. I liked her.

New question: favourite bar: I have been going to a dive, not so regular these days but a history long enough for me to be in three of their wall annual pictures for various different years, called Bistro 422, which has the cheapest of drinks, and a staff who has all been there for longer than the 15 years I've been going there.

I like these new questions, I wanna answer em if any of you care.

Pets: Muna, a grey stripey cat. she's about to have a new calico lady roommate.
Where would I live: Pacific Northwest! Northern California! I also like it here (florida) and probably wouldn't hate myself if I stayed forever.
Answer that will embarrass me in seven years: the question where I say "nickosaurus!!!!!!"
Has your relationship status changed: yes. several times. when I filled this out the first time I was a virgin  Shocked
How much sleep do you need: at least 8 or less than 6
Ani Difranco: yes. I was really obsessed with her from age 13 to like 20 and then I sorta discovered a shitload of new music and stopped pursuing her newer stuff but I still think she's great.
Childhood hero: hero? I don't know- Raphael from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or ALL of the beach boys.
Creative pursuit: people watching, making up stories about those people
Closest encounter with food hell: this one time my whole family ate something called "idiot fries" in maine and I was the only one who didn't shit my pants on the way back to the cabin because I was vegetarian and didn't eat the fries.
People you wish would come back: nickosaurus!!!!!!!!
favourite bar: the imperial. or bull and bush. none of you know about them. they are cool places to hang out. the first one is an antique/import furniture store during the day and you can lounge around and drink wine on all this fancy expensive furniture plus they have cool outdoor areas and little coves where you can be with just your friends and no one else. Bull and bush is cozy and small and fun. OH and the bar at the bowling alley. cheap strong drinks, no one is ever there, you can play the same song on the juke box over and over again.

Name: John
Age: 30
Three Bands you like: Spiritualized.  Sleater-Kinney.  Tullycraft.
Favorite movie: Apocalypse Now.
Favorite book: Absalom, Absalom by Faulkner.
Favorite comic strip: No answer.  I kinda like Cat and Girl but I can't rightly call it my favorite.  Nothing else comes to mind, though.
Which goonie would you want to share a studio apartment with? No answer.  I saw that movie way too late.
Skills/hobbies: Skills like this.
Sillls/hobbies you wish you had: The above is a really good answer in some ways but it is a bit against the spirit of the thread.  In addition to the above sometimes I write but not recently.  I paint for fun.  I read.  I dunno. Anyway for this question: Focus.  The ability to shut up sometimes.  The ability to talk other times.  Anything resembling a sense of direction/ability to follow speech or text that includes the words "turn" or "left" or "north" for more than a phrase in advance.  I wish my spelling and word choice decisions were better.
Last CD you bought: Hold On by the Weird Weeds at the show last night.
Was it good? I haven't had a chance to listen to it.  I really liked their performance, very low key, mellow experimental folk.  I need to rip it and listen to it at work tomorrow.  Also it is a Creative Commons CD so they're encouraging me to share it.
Three favorite poems: "The Lost Ingredient" by Sexton, "The Waste Land" by Eliot, "Tithonious" by Tennyson.
Best popsicle flavor: Red.
Favorite instrument: Double bass.  I've always liked how French Horns sound, though.
Favorite word:  I don't know.  Probably not "prestidigitation" though.
Favorite word for kiss: Ehh.

What is your favorite meal?: Bibimbap, Banh-mi, or Bo-Bun (edison I didn't realize you were into bibimbap we should compare notes!)

= get to work on compiling a top 5 Paris bibimbap list post-haste

Bibimbap tends to be sort of hit and miss- though even the misses are in 98% of cases very much edible and usually enjoyable. I've found that the rice, and specifically how caramelized and crispy it is at the bottom, makes a big difference
