Thank you everyone. By the way, in case you thought I couldn't spell, or that I had big, fat, mash-the-keyboard-Homer-Simpson-style fingers, in Korean they are udong, rather than udon as the Japanese call them.

Yes

Wouldn't that be fantastic. Any time you're in Shoreham-By-Sea!

I just had a bigass bacon & cheddar bison burger from Bareburger. It was quite tasty, not spectacular, but it was my first time having bison, which I found to be more flavorful and gamey than beef. Also demolished a big pile of onion rings with curry ketchup, chipotle mayo, etc. All in all a pretty good binge meal, but I'm kind of regretting not just stopping over at Pies 'n' Thighs in Wburg on my way back up to Queens.

cool. I love bison. There used to be a farm here, but I think it got burnt out in the victorian bushfires a couple of years ago. I've had bison burgers in Boulder and Boston. I like my food alliterative apparently.

Yeah, bison is gooood. I keep thinking that kangaroo is roughly the Aussie equivalent, despite the size/appearance disparity. It shows up in roughly the same places--burgers, aging-hipster-esque bars, etc. And both are best when they're served pretty rare.
This reminds me, I'm totally going to eat the hell out of a bison burger at Buster's when I get back to Minneapolis in August. I'll add that to my list.
I will also note that I took an early dinner opportunity to visit Melbourne's fawned over Mexican restaurant Mamasita last night. People wait for hours and hours on the steps in the winter to eat here for some reason. It was okay, and I would come back because they have lengua tacos which are pretty much impossible to find here. It's a step up from Taco Bill, but the beans weren't quite cooked right, and the tortillas seemed to be of the super market persuasion, and although the tongue was tasty it had some not-quite-tender spots. It's pretty slim pickings for Mexican food here, but I'm still puzzled by the huge queue out the door for this place. There are several places in town that are just as good, and most of them are cheaper.

Man, there's bugger all Mexican here. I say eat it! (I've got a tortilla press now, so home made Mex just got more exciting)

I can't even fathom what Mexican food must be like in places where they don't have, you know, Mexicans.

Even in places where there are a lot of Mexicans, there's still a 3:1 ratio between restaurants where you're served "Mexican dumbed down for gringos w/ scads of ground beef and dairy" versus places where you can get roasted pig cheek tacos and good stuff like that. The difference is, at the latter, the Mexican server doesn't stare down at your plate with a mixture of disgust and embarrassment like he does at the former.

Dude I dunno if it's the color saturation or what but that looks far, far from appetizing. Like french fries topped with gray sponges and spit-up

cameraphone probably, it was delicious
but it didn't really look delicious, it is true
also I'm pretty sure the gyros meat was cut from a brick rather than a cone

Yeah, it looks weird, but if "looks weird" disqulified something from being eligible to be eaten by me, I'd probably starve.
