Yeah, I remember that. It was pretty humiliating for us folks in Macon, where he's from. I know dudes who went to high school with him.

Oh shit, the White Sox are going to give Count Donkula playing time in left field during interleague. This could be fun. And the OF eligibility will give one of my fantasy teams some much needed flexibility.

Man, Adam Jones talking about UZR and wOBA...that is wonderful. Major league players talking about sabermetrics is always wonderful.

Also "Count Donkula" really cracks me up.
And I just looked up that Reddick play, fantastic stuff. There's been jaw-dropping defensive highlights almost every night this season, it feels like.

The Sally League is going to have its Home Run Derby on the flight deck of the USS Yorktown down in Charleston (where my pops lives), they're gonna be hitting baseballs into Charleston Harbor and a bunch of dudes on jetskis and kayaks are gonna be out in the water to retrieve them. The Coast Guard will be measuring distances. I think I need to go to that.

I still haven't gone to a game yet this season! What's wrong with me? I'm just having a really hard time getting in to baseball this year.
That said, I am going to the Brewers-Twins game on Friday, so for my birthday I'll get to watch two of the worst teams in baseball slug it out.

That sounds like a good time! Miller Park looks like a pretty awesome place to take in a game, definitely on my stadium to-do list. And you're right, the Brewers are off to a slow start, but the Twins occupy a whole different rung of badness right now. AND YET, it looks like Scott Diamond is pitching for the Twins in that game, and he hasn't given up a run in 14 innings. Should be a good game!

I love Miller Park, yeah. You ever make it to Milwaukee, let me know. I'll take you to a game.
Was hoping to get to Minneapolis this summer as well to take in a game at Target Field, but it's not looking so likely.

Jeb I am coming to Milwaukee sometime this summer for real and I want to go to ballgames. (Tentatively looking at the Phillies series the weekend of August 11th)
Hopefully going to my first Omaha Storm Chasers game of the season tonight. The Royals just moved Wil Myers and Jake Odorizzi up to Omaha, so that's exciting. They're playing the Mariners affiliate, which I was surprised and disappointed to find does not include Danny Hultzen or James Paxton.

Keep me updated. I might be able to get good but cheap tickets through work.

Brandon Beachy rockin' the CG SHO like he's a Braves pitcher from the 90s.

Hell yes. I couldn't watch it live, but I was eagerly following the Gamecast and was so happy when I saw his name standing alone in the pitching stats.

Man, every interview that David Laurila posts to Fangraphs is gold. There tend to be a few each weeks, the Jones one above, there's one earlier this week with Josh Tomlin where he explains his thought process for each pitch that he through to a specific batter in a recent game. Today's with the Indians manager and GM is great too:
http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/acta-and-chernoff-optimizing-the-indians-offense/
I'd love it if he were to sit down with Chipper when the Braves head to Boston in June.

Whoa:
Quote
Umpire Bob Davidson has received a one-game suspension for his repeated violations of the Office of the Commissioner's standards for situation handling, Major League Baseball announced today.
He was pretty ridiculous in his argument with Philly's Charlie Manuel the other night. It'll be interesting to see what sort of precedent this sets.
Also, fare thee well Kerry Wood, apparently. It's too bad injuries kept us from seeing what he could really do.

Pretty nice moment for Wood today.
May we all strike out the last batter we face.

Well the good news is that Minnesota basically used up their run allotment for the next month or so.

Minnesota has scored 30 runs in their last five games, so they've used up their run allotment possibly until mid-August
