For women, “the ratio certainly can work in your favor,” said Julia Allison, a former tech journalist who divides her time between New York and the Bay Area, and says she finds digital entrepreneurs more satisfying partners than Wall Street moguls: “Wouldn’t you rather be with someone who was changing the world?”

"What probably won’t change is the fact that I don’t consider babies a miracle any more than I consider a seed growing into a tree particularly miraculous," pretty much nails it.
For some reason this morning I was thinking if I saw you in person, Whit, I'd ask if you thought you'd ever have children. Can't believe I only just rememebered that you cannot. Also, I will rep and say seeds growing into trees are awesome, but I wouldn't expect you to love babies on that basis.

I have definitely thought before that is pretty amazing that seeds grow into trees. I also find it kind of fascinating and amazing that humans grow other humans inside of them, when I think about it that way, but I tend to be easily fascinated. That also doesn't mean I'm rushing out to do my own case study on the subject (still not sure if I want kids ever, but increasingly I have trouble seeing how having kids biologically is likely to fit into the next decade of my life).

That's the best craigslist ad I've seen lately. I even wrote to thank them for giving me a laugh this morning.

Dr. Zoidberg: Errr, excuse me... which is the one people like to hug?
80s Guy: Gutsy question. You're a shark. Sharks are winners, and they don't look back because they have no necks. Necks are for sheep.

I just realized that it's been a good three years or so since I last watched some Futurama, and that means it's time for a review. Thanks for the reminder!

The blog’s title caused less discomfort, though Mr. Koenig said it used a word he did not use much. “Bobby is more comfortable with it,” he said.
“It is a very versatile word,” Ms. Bass said, adding that she and her husband had been warmed up to it by their son, Ezra Koenig, 28. His band, Vampire Weekend, is an indie favorite, and one of its hits, “Oxford Comma,” contains the word in its lyrics.
