That's bullshit. Starbucks is like Chipotle except everything is wrapped in white plastic cardboard cups instead of a tortilla.

in this case you might actually get substantial prison cred, though.

"what are you in for?"

"colon abuse"

Chipotle was the first thing I ate after deciding to go veg. I found that a Chipotle burrito tastes about the same without meat as with. I mean unless you are one of those people who gets a burrito with meat and nothing else. Not that there's anything wrong with a sack of meat every now and again.

The only thing I dislike is that shit they write on their cups. Come on, don't taint my burrito experience with that shit.

I like that Chipotle doesn't charge you extra for guacamole on the vegetarian burrito.  Lesser burrito chains could learn a thing or two about this.

The thread title could be for a porn, where line cooks go down on waitresses on the pass? I can't see a bunch of x's together without thinking it must be naughty.

The best fish tacos I've had we're just over a month ago, from this food truck. They also had the best cookies I've ever eaten, chocolate with chocolate chunks, ginger and cayenne. Both of those things also sound naughty to me, making me wonder if I've been celibate for too long or haven't purified for long enough.

The vegetarian burrito allows you to get the works for free except meat.

How do we define "Kid?"

In regards to free meals, Chipotle has the standing tradition of "free burrito if you dress like a burrito" on Halloween. Pretty nice back in high school.

By the way, I'm absolutely unfamiliar with these other chains you're naming, Davy. Is this a Georgia thing? Am I simply out-of-the-loop? Have I grown blind to other burrito establishments?

Could be a southern thang. They're definitely all biggish regional chains. I'm surprised you haven't heard of Moe's -- I thought they were pretty widespread.

We also have Barberito's, a homegrown burrito chain. No Qdoba yet, but there was one in Ft. Collins when I lived there.

And in other news, a new frozen yogurt place opens every three hours or so.

This seems like a better place to put this than the food thread.

FACT: Evan has never been to an Olive Garden. I believe he is some kind of alien. We are going there tonight because I have a need for multiple breadsticks and as a precursor to going there I sent him a link to Greg's I Am A Host At The Olive Garden strips. CONFIDENTIAL TO GREG: He liked them. Very Happy

I am a little sad that 2 Man Chain Gang appears to have ceased production because I think they would have had a field day at the Olive Garden.

I had never heard of Moe's until Davy mentioned them like a week ago, and about a day later, a Moe's in North Carolina or somewhere like that comped my friend's entire band lunch on their way out of town, which is pretty awesome.

Turns out, there are lots and lots of Moe's, way more than I thought, even.

Oh I can now report on Cantina Bell.

THE GOOD:

Chips + Pico (combo side item). Pico is surprisingly good, nice balanced amount of cilantro, rather fresh tomatoes, really not any worse than the pico you get at the fast casual burrito chains.

THE BAD:

Chicken cantina burrito. An unfortunate mash of indistinguishable, muted flavors. Cannot see how eating the same contents in bowl form would rectify this. Perhaps I expected too much from you, Taco Bell. Your marketing people are really good at flavor text but your culinary people are really bad at flavor.

OVERALL: thumbs down

I was craving mexican food last night because of a ween song.  And then this morning I realized the generic Mexican "bistek de bola" in my fridge had to go.  So I made fake chipotle.  It's pretty good!  My black beans are better, even. Because they contain half a can of Hamms.
