I really wanted the Ghostbusters HQ playset when I was a kid but my folks couldn't afford it, so my grandpa built me one! Out of wood! And it was awesome!

Oddly, while we had TONS of Star Wars action figures, we never had any of the playsets and very few of the vehicles.

Bob and I used to have fist fights over this:

Also had this which, if I'm honest, I didn't remember from the films at all:

The only time you see it is in Empire Strikes Back after the AT-AT attack, when the Rebels are evacuating the Hoth station.

Yup.

Edit: Actually, it might show up one more time at the very end of Empire, when Luke & Leia are standing at the window of that spaceship and the camera pans out to show the rest of the Rebel Fleet.

The fire pole was, for whatever reason, the single baddest-assed part of that whole thing, to me.

I always wanted the playsets but never got any of them, though, in retrospect a lot of them look lame and way smaller than my child-brain expected them to be.  I guess I did have Mumm-Ra's Tomb, which was kind of dope because you could transform that decayed form into Mumm-Ra, the Ever-Living.

They look small now, but I can assure you -- the Terror Drome and Fortress of Fangs loom large in my memory. Those plus the He-Man castles were the only big playsets I ever had.

Oddly, while we had TONS of Star Wars action figures, we never had any of the playsets and very few of the vehicles.

My brother had that Castle Greyskull! And a bunch of He-Man guys.

I had a huge pile of Star Wars action figures, a few ships and an Ewok Village playset. The net, the spit and the elevator were the best parts.

Recently my young niece and nephew have been watching some Star Wars and before I left Arizona I told my sister she could dole out the action figures at whatever pace she felt reasonable. They often want to listen to Star Wars soundtracks to go to sleep so this is all pretty great.

We actually had the TMNT playset shown in one of the lists davy linked too.  And the thing that threw pizza discs?

(here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UV450il_YZI)

My autistic brother really liked Ninja Turtles.

I had that one too! There were what, 3 or 4 levels, with the trash compactor at the bottom but also the retracting bridge for Luke to swing across and the spot where Kenobi shut off the tractor beam. I don't remember what all else

If I remember correctly, that's the only vintage Death Star toy that was ever produced. It also had the huge laser cannon, and -- seriously, how could you forget -- Darth Vader's meditation chamber.

Mostly because that was like 30 years ago. There's been a lot of beer under the bridge since then

I had one of those too!  I'm a bit hazy on the meditation chamber as well, although I definitely remember the lazer on the top level and the trash compactor.  Pretty sure mine is still in my parents' attic somewhere.

Nope! It's because I was totally wrong! The meditation chamber is in the Star Destroyer playset, which also had a giant laser cannon:

My cousins had the pizza thrower.  I only vaguely knew what tmnt was but I wanted it so bad.
