i have to know, what did i do to mike m, or the chimneys? i liked the latter two, and i'm pretty sure the  former at least was driven out by the philosophical attack dogs, i.e. uh, you. i don't remember trying to say an inflammatory word to jack or jane chimney.

why does this have to be on a new page?

That prompted me to go back and look what happened in the Mike M situation, and it was a bunch of people ganging up on him at once, neither GI nor reese among them.  It was actually Gracelette (!) who was the main culprit, but I'm pretty sure she was the straw that broke the camel's back.  Ppl had been picking on the dude for a while.  The Chimneys were due to that whole "Fatty Chan" fiasco, if you'll recall.

it's funny how this board suddenly sometimes feels like the front room in my parents house, about 9pm on christmas day, as everyone argues over who it was that insulted dad/grandpa/aunty helen and made him/her/them hide in the study in a huff, and just who exactly didn'y contribute enough to making dinner that mum slaved over for HOURS, while we're at it, and then you went and spilled wine on the best tablecloth too.

and then some other like minor annoyances from months back that you'd forgotten about get raised too, just for kicks.

I've been here for years.

I would've said if you didn't.  I mean if I were on the boards last night.  And maybe I would've asked it as a question or something like have you been here for years?

I don't know if Mary actually understood those posts. She might not be an around-the-way girl.

C, you can man my boards anytime.

I've linked to this before, I'm sure, but it never ceases to amuse me:

Holy Crap, Chris that's awesome.  I never thought about that.  My brother, btw, used to play the theme from St. Elsewhere on his keyboard incessantly.  I still hate it from having heard it so many times.

Edit: We could, like, give this thing its own thread!  Look at how they are so obsessive they have "Two Guys and a Girl" seperate from "Two Guys a Girl and a Pizza Place!" And "These Friends of Mine" listed by "Ellen!"

I just split this off into its own thread.  I will probably be staring at that thing for a while, and the Quotable thread needs to get back on track somethin' fierce.

Pretty much sums it up. The sexism and homophobia around here are getting so old so fast.

I think it's just a general expression of discontent, like you do.
I am also very curious as to where Bernard sees this. I'm not saying it's not there, just that I must have missed it when I was misquoting Maaik about trains. We are the same old douches, in my mind.

i agree with you bernard. dieblucasdie has a tendency to do that, along with his 'homeboys' and 'homegirls' here. they don't seem to care that real people might be hurt, or offended, by their sometimes scatological humor. like you, i sometimes have to turn my face away from my monitor or go into the bathroom and crouch by the toilet because it hurts my stomach. we're not going to solve the problems in our society until we take a stand. and i say we take that stand here and now, on a messageboard, by admonishing people who are not taking themselves serious enough.

Maybe she just read the Femme Mentale thread?  That thing was pretty messed up.  Or maybe she just hates me.
