Jesus CHRIST, people!  I'm here!  I'm waiting!  I've got one big-ass pot of vegan chili and one big-ass pan of corn pudding, and neither me or my food are getting any younger.  COME COME COME.

Easy for YOU to say, YOU don't have to travel a gorram 5-million miles to get there. You're already there.

But I like your enthusiasm. One day I'm a-gonna just show up. And eat your food.

I watched Serenity today and it reminded me of this song.

(this is my "once a year" band- I only ever see the drummer the couple days each year when we record a new album. And the mp3 is like 9mb.)

You mean my covertly-hidden throwing knives?  Jesus, Maaik, stop telling people they're hidden in my sleeve.  Now I'll never be able to sneak them into crowded federal functions.

Actually, the thing to which Maaik refers is a new LPTJ project, if anyone'd be up for it.  We all like recording our own songs.  We all like recording other people's songs.  We've proven we can do both.  Now, dare we try both... AT THE SAME TIME?

The idea is:  let's say three people (A, B, and C shall be their names) want to get in on this project.  Each has songs they've recorded, 'cause they all be musically-inclined peeps.

So A sends a few of his songs to B, B sends a few of his songs to C, and C sends a few of her (yes, HER -- the ladies better get in on this shit) songs to A.

B chooses one song of A's to cover.  C chooses one song of B's to cover.  A chooses one song of C's to cover.  The originals, and the covers, are then sent to the organizer of this project (I'm guessing that'd be me), who compiles them into one disc of originals and one disc of covers.

Basically, this allows for a fun daisy-chain effect in which we each get to cringe at other people's reinterpretation of our songs, or cringe at our lack of talent, if the other people show us up by recording a better cover than the original.

If you're up for this idea, post here to say so, and I'll collect all people who are interested, and randomly assign them to each other through the time-honored method of picking the names from a hat.

The hat shall be a regulation Civil War confederate kepi.  The names shall be written on folded pieces of 20-lb white paper of 84 brightness.

It better get more than just a "little" messy; there better be blood on the fucking ceiling by the time we're through.

That's two affirmatives, so far!
