this new album is even better than the first one.
Favorite song on the album, currently. And yeah, the album rules.

Jandek - "Carnival Queen" -
Modern Dances
I'm so sick of every review of Jandek I read painting him as this unlistenable entity that's only worthwhile for his mystery. I know it's probably been debated here before, but I'm willing to say that even if it weren't for his mystery I would still love this stuff. It's like what Beefheart wished he could convey. Hell, it's what Robert Johnson wished he could convey. The desolation, the lonliness, the bitterness, it's all pure emotion on tape. The albums I've got are absolute treasures. Some of the purest things ever recorded. Maybe someday people will stop treating him like a freak and start appreciating him as the brilliant artist he is.

They didn't! They're still touring! They're doing an album!
e.g., "Due to monster things behind small curtains, the OXES ep "OXES EP" will be released in August of 2005. The damn thing is on fire folks, and it sounds totally brilliant. OXES still climbing to their peak!!!"

Frank Sinatra
Songs for Swingin' Lovers
I'm having a one man sophistication party. Drinking Ketel One vodka and having some gouda cheese from Holland and some black bread. I wish I had a lover to swing with. Sigh.

Who's stupid idea was it to put each song that has two versions back to back? Ugh. I am skipping the second version of each song.

i dunno, but when i burned that box set from my dad, i discovered that if you only got 1 version of each song, it fits on one cd. so that was pretty sweet.
but yeah, the two versions of every song back to back was like, the worst idea EVER.

Yeah, what I did was just burn the OG versions on one CD, and the rest on a second CD, and THAT'S what I keep in the case. I keep the real CDs elsewhere but I found that this makes for a much better listening experience.

I'm on track one of this album my freind burned for me by Urfaust. Sounds pretty decent. However, the vocals will probably make or break the album (my freind described them as black metal with clean vocals, which sounds dubious to me), and I'm 10 minutes into track 1 and still no vox. Not really any guitars either. Just kinda cool ambient violins and stuff.
