I have some Rose's sweetened lime juice.  Which I could be using to make a gimlet instead but something about this weather screams out for a G&T.  

Now I'm all out of T, so I've switched to G&J.

Out of curiosity, what is the preferred flavor of J for this?  orange I assume but does anyone use anything else?  I have some apple juice but I can't imagine that would be remotely good.

I've always used orange juice.  And blue food coloring, when I want to drink something that looks unnatural.  Which is a surprisingly large percentage of the times that I drink.

To answer questions:

The current J is orange.  Because that's pretty much all I have.  Although we do have a big jar of pickle juice...

Not currently rolling down the street.
And not currently smoking anything, although yesterday afternoon I sat on my roof with a pipe and had some passersby greet me with enthusiastic honks of the horn.

Apple sounds like a poor choice.  I don't mind G& grapefruit, but if I'm out of mixers, I'll usually just drink the gin.  (That, of course, requires good gin, which I am out of entirely.)
