Back in they day, I drank almost exclusively chilled, pure vodka.I've had some wonderful specimens flow down my gullet, don't you worry.

I agree, but there's something about bad vodka that I actually like. I never hesitate before reaching for the hobo vodka at the liquor store.

My sister recently gave me a new bottle of
General Stark
, which is my favorite. It's made from apples, and has a nice subtle appley taste to it.
As far as whisky, I'm with blake for the most part, in that it's all pretty appealing. The only exception to this may be Rye whisky, which seems to make me real cranky.

Vodka makes me cranky ALL THE TIME.
Which is why I drink it.
Also I used to be all snotty about topshelf/Grey Goose/whatever, but two nights ago when I was hanging out with a friend I ordered rail vodka in my drink cause of poverty, and it was delicious.

Good bourbon is among the best things one can imbibe. Irish whiskey is also very good. Scotch is a fine thing. I'm down with Rye. I can even stomach a Canadian occasionally. But Tennessee whiskey is where I draw the fucking line.
If you aren't planning on using that as
your
epitaph do you think I could use it as mine? Not that I'm in need of one just yet.
OT: I like Fat Tire's 2 Below Ale. It's not 2 below here (about 40 F) but it feels close enough because I am weak.
2 Below is good stuff. There's a bar in Lincoln that has $2 pints of it for all of December. It's dangerous for me to go in there.

The one time I drank rye whiskey it was out of a baby food jar. No shit! It didn't make me angry but it sure made me hurl.
Wild Turkey, that shit makes me batshit insane.

I have a toothache. I believe bourbon is the only answer.
Still working on finishing my bottle of Russell's Reserve.

last night, me & my pal becky were sippin' on some blenheim's ginger ale + maker's mark. i must say: a most advantageous mixture. Cleared our sinuses & kept us both warm & drunk while we listened to J.C. Superstar(ha!).
tonight: EGG NOG. you hear that, Greg? EGG NOG.

Heh. You don't know the half of it. Sometimes I don't even go for the real stuff and have a chilled Stoli Vanil, instead.
Anyone tried the Rogue malt liquor? It's called Dad's Little Helper, and I've very nearly bought it the past few trips to the carryout, but I just can't justify spending 4bux on a pint bottle of malt liquor when there are 40s of OE for a buck and a half right next to it.

Tragically, Blenheim's no longer distributes to NC. (What is it with this state and beverage distribution?) So now I stop at South of the Fucking Border on my way to mom's, as it's the last chance I get to buy that delicious burning nectar.
Extra hot Reed's is a substitute, sorta. In the way that a Whopper is a substitute for a burger you formed and grilled with your own greasy hands.

No, but I have had Dogfish Head's Liquor de Malt. Strictly a novelty beer because it wasn't any better than any other malt liquor.
Edit: Double post, but fuck it. This is the one topic this board discusses that I actually know something about.

blenheim's ginger ale
is this some sort of special ginger ale, clearly different/superior to, say, publix brand ginger ale?

Blenheim's originally sold carbonated seltzery beverages made from their spring water. Problem: the spring was sulfury. Solution: dump a shit-ton of ginger in there.
And that's how the best ginger ale ever was born. If you inhale as you're tipping a bottle of their Hot ginger ale toward your grill, the fizzy spicy vapors will make you cough, then aspirate some fluid, and then maybe choke. It's awesome.
Again, Reed's, Boylan's, Schweppes, Goya et al. aren't even in the same neighborhood.

Man that sounds like an awesome drink. I am a big fan of the whiskey ginger... I'll have to track down some of this ambrosia you speak of.

Buck's Fizz would be my favourite drink ever if champagne didn't give me an immediate hungover feeling without any high.
