CBC Radio 3: the best taxpayer-funded indie rock resource there is.  Absolutely stellar recording session with stuff off the new Your Blues album totally stood on its head by Frog Eyes, acting as Bejar's backing band.  This is killer.

My friends are all serious into Frog Eyes, but I could never really enjoy it.  Maybe it's because I'd rather just listen to the real bowie.

That is a gorgeous website, wow.

Hah, Nick: are you talking about Frog Eyes or Destroyer as ersatz Bowie?

For a friend and I, who are passionate Destroyer fans, the news that he was working with Frog Eyes was highly disheartening. We don't get Frog Eyes. They show up like some bad curse at every second show we go to, always drunk and crazy, half the crowd into it, true devotees, and the other half bewildered and anxious for the end. maybe I'll get it one day,

One of the best shows I've ever seen was the 'This Night' era Destroyer lineup doing a preview of the album in August '02 at the old Blinding Light theatre. It was the first Destroyer show since he moved back from Montreal, and no one had any idea of what he was going to sound like. No one so much as breathed for the good hour he played. It was exciting in all the right ways.

What's the general opinion here of Radio Berlin?

I will be in Vancouver (again) this weekend to see them, and also see some friends of mine DJ beforehand.  This will be at the Brickyard in Gastown, I believe.  This Sat. aug 21st.   I really like what I heard from their latest album.

I haven't seen them in a while, but they're fantastic at what they do. A very solid, intense live act.

I've been looking for some live versions of Bejar w/ Frog Eyes for the longest time.  No bootlegs surfaced, so this is amazing.  I'm currently recording them line in into Cool Edit so I can separate them and turn them into .mp3s.

Oh, OK, then I don't need to do it. Smile  Thanks, I'll grab 'em from you if that's OK.

Hey does anyone know where I can get mp3s of this stuff (other than soulseek)? I love Your Blues, but I may like these reinventions even better. Is it true there's an EP of this stuff coming out sometime?
