Thanks for the thread link, and don't worry I would not dream of jumping in there!! OMG, hell I got tired and dizzy just reading parts of it! Holy Crap!  It reminded me of that movie with Jim Carrey Bruce Almighty where he all of a sudden he starts hearing the entire worlds prayers at once as I was reading it I imagined all the different voices, accents tones of all those people it was sorta trippy and Vertigo like.  and at the end I expected to hear brakes SHREEECHING! and yes I did mean 3 Es!  

Anyways to make a short reply even longer, I really didnt want John Darnielle to answer a specific question I was just wondering if there was an area where fans discuss songs and stuff like offer up thier interpretations and impressions they get from the music I always find that interesting.   But ok. I get it... thanks for the reply!

ok, thanks I understand what isle I am on now.  I see the sign now that says "No Mountain Goats Allowed" - "No Mountain Goat spoken here" thanks for the clarification!

And yeah I will give google a whirl, it really was not that important anyways.  I am finding not many people have read Crime and Punishment anyways, the one person I talked to last Saturday that did had a completely different slant and didnt get what I was trying to say.  I guess maybe I really should look for a discussion on that book it was just that Love Love Love brought up some thoughts on that character Roskolnikov and his victims and what love really is or isn't.  Maybe there is a "what is love?" and "things you do for love" discussion board out there.  and oddly enough I think those are both songs too! and I apologize for speaking mountain goat above, please forgive i know not what i do and do not what i know sometimes!  eeek!  ooooh i just noticed Bernard you linked me to a fan site!  thanks!

actually this whole thing started with a question I saw on the mountain goats myspace page, so then i started a thread about it at John Vanderslice's Heated Pool and Bar

of which someone said maybe come here and now I am saying maybe go back there if you are interested.  There are at least 5 or so mountain goats threads under the related bands area, they come up now and again.  We also talk about lots of other stuff too so if you love JV and really come on! who doesn't?  you should come there too.  I don't belong to livejournal but I will read it for sure, I actually read something on there just now about love love love.  and that guy had some similar thoughts, so thanks stephanie!!!

oh and i just saw that bernard, and no worries please! no worries at all!  i didnt feel squashed and for the official record. contrary to popular belief, i dont squash that easy!  haha!  

i would participate in the other music conversations too but honestly i have not listened to many of the folks jd talks about - but there are a few i want to look up based on his commentary i just have not yet.  I tried to find that Bellafea record but I haven't yet I would like to hear something that defines summer!  that would be awesome!  but not sure how wearing sweaters and summer fit yet.  but i'll see! also want to get that John Prine record, she is my everything, I have not heard of either of these artists so I will check it out.
