...after you've been reading/posting for a while, when you open post pages they start appearing as raw xml code instead of what they're supposed to be like? and they look like shit and you can't read them and there's nothing you can do but give up and leave for an hour and then come back?

because that's been happening to me, on both my home and work computers, steadily for at least two months now.

Yes, it did for a long time, although I just switched to Firefox, and it hasn't happened since.

Although you don't have to just let it sit, you can just click back and then click the thread again, and it'll usually work after a couple of tries.

i use firefox as well and that doesnt happen to me.
i like firefox lots but i have 2 problems with it, i dont know if they can be solved by unclicking some option thing. first for some reason it doesnt let me pay my phonebill, it doesnt register and is not a popup problem, and two it doesnt work with hotmail.  both things i can get accomplished from explorer... so its weird.

I'm also a Firefox user and I don't have this problem.  I didn't have any problems back when I used IE either, but that was way back in October-ish.

Hotmail works fine for me on Firefox also.

There's a fix here that will likely alievate your Hotmail problems.

As always, Firefox users need to make sure they are using the latest version.

Oddly enough, Andrew, I've never had that problem with this site, but with a bunch of other sites in Safari, of all things.

Uninstall Firefox and reinstall the latest version.

The hotel where I work has implemented this ban on all forms of IE, because just browsing with that bastard can fuck up your office LAN. All these PCs have Firefox and OpenOffice on 'em.

But no, that xml glitch has never happened to me, either. Firefox all the way.

Sun Micro's answer to MS office. It has all the neccesary functions of MSO, It works better, it's open source, and best of all, free.

As long as we're discussing OSS word processors, I'll go ahead and put in a good word for Abiword. It's much quicker and less bloated than OO.o.

I'll probably check that out. OO.o is a real resource hog.

Sorry about that guys, but I really have no idea what could cause that. Since we run this place on phpBB, I am nearly clueless about the nuts and bolts of the site. I will check around on the phpBB support boards when I get a chance.
