My old neighbor!! He and I grew into completely different  people ( that is to say that I am dorky and  unathletic, while he is the captain of the soccer team and picked his college based on the Frat life.)  I moved out of the neighborhood years ago! He still greets me in the hallway kindly, and he came over the other night! Big hugs and old stories were shared!

Today his girlfriend called me (she's a year younger, but, you know, more his type than mine!) to see if I wanted to get a bit to eat and "hit up hollister" which is apparently having a big sale. I didn't want to!  I've never really spent much time with her. But, man. I love him for being all about honoring our "FRIENDS FOERVER NO MATTER WHAT!!" vow 12 years after it was made.

I haven't been running much in the last month, because my knee's been fucked up and I've been in a lot of transit without a solid enough schedule. Went out tonight; the knee was alright, but endurance was weak--I began hitting the wall around a mile in. Then Aerosmith's "Sweet Emotion" came on my MP3 player, and I'll be damned if it didn't pump me up enough to ride out the make-or-break part and continue on into a decent enough three-mile-plus jaunt.

it's going quite well. work is easy and slow today, i guess because the weather is cold and dreary here. so perhaps this is a birthday gift from the gods or something. also, my parents mailed a birthday gift to my work, and it got here this morning. it's a pyrex casserole dish. i'm gonna learn to make lasagna!
