looks like some shit outta Brazil.
it pretty much is the architectural apex of ductwork.
this is a derail, but there's no way I'll miss this opportunity to post a picture of the university hospital of my hometown aachen. it looks a lot more impressive/weird when you catch the full view, but you get the idea:

oh wow. kind of reminiscent of kahn's service/served thing. do you know who the architect is?

Weber Brand & Partner, according to a quick RIBA search.
(^^^Educated guess.)
EDIT:
"Beaubourg was not the only the only homage to the Price/Archigram pop shed; at Aachen University, for example, Weber, Brand and Partners pressed on with their Faculty of Medicine, another striking essay in ductwork, color coding and indeterminate frames..."

Yep, that's true. Their first draft was from 1969, they opened it in 1985. I think it looks great from the outside, but inside is something else...

that's a pretty cool building but i don't think i would want to go into a hospital that looks like an architectural depiction of a viral attack.
also mos, when you said it is the 'achitectural apex of ductwork' my brain first read that as 'duct tape' and i thought it was a slur.

nominon-recremation
buried beneath-last rays of the moon. sweet mid 90's blackened death, i had never heard of this band until earlier this week.
moss-cthonic rites
dark heresy-abstract principles taken to their logical extremes. awesome mid 90's tech death.
avsky-mass destruction
insect warfare-world extermination. this is my favorite grind record of 07. sorry pig destroyer.
necrophobic-darkside. i'm so stoked to finally own a copy of this. underrated black/death, imagine combining "like an everflowing stream" and "storm of the lights bane" into one album. even sweeter is the fact that this usually goes for over 50 bucks and i snatched a copy for 20.

i really don't get the appeal of typing like a douchebag.
it's like, when making a pettily defensive point, you may want to try not to annoy everyone with the formatting too.
it's not a fucking poem. it's the fucking internet.

4 in a row! (cf the disco ball sequence earlier in the thread.)
If anyone can add to the sequence, either before the Hot Chip or after the Rome - or between the Reid Anderson and the Animal Collective, which is a bit of a leap of faith - then be my guest.

Genius!
How many more can be added, I wonder?
Also, on the Reid Anderson tip:
Reid Anderson -
Abolish Bad Architecture
Jacques Tati -
Playtime
I know it's not an album, but I thought it worth posting anyway. Also, given the subject matter of
Playtime
and the title of the CD, I wonder if the Anderson cover is a deliberate homage?
EDIT: MF spelling mistakes!
