a hip, hip, hip lady.

when george would come in from the fields every afternoon, she'd have a fat bowl packed and waiting for him.

The Waterboys - Fisherman's Blues

Christy Moore - Prosperous

I suspect this one might be deliberate.

Acid Mothers Temple - Recurring Dream And Apocalypse Of Darkness / Birchville Cat Motel - Four Freckle Constellation

Only to find out later that they were both made by Seldon Hunt. But still, how often can you make the same sleeve?

PS Is that Edward Norton on the Doves cover?

PPS I stumbled across this again when searching for the above Dolphy image- always thought it was pretty great.

George Russell rules, by the way.

That one of the girl with some stones keeps popping up and I always think it's such a great cover. But I never remember what the album is.

Its teh newest Pumice album - weirdo NZ guy, who usually draws his own covers actually... Fine fellow too, been round for years, now finally fitting in somewhere into the world, and having people ask about his records  on bulletin boards.

A few people here have it, I think. I have several earlier ones, but not this one.

Oh, ok. I will try to hear that, on the twin strengths of cute-girl-with-stones-cover / weirdo-NZ-guy-endorsed-by-difficult

Agreed- I think that cover has consistently got positive comments on here.

So I went to see where it was available, and I just found out that Pumice played here last Saturday night.  Bah!

The CD had better not be good.

Ah, but Stefan is really wonderful live too! Solo amplified tiny-guitar-that-looks-very-much-like-a-ukelele-but-will-enrage-the-artist-if-you-call-it-one and drums, with megaphone moanings, and songs ranging from scuzzy throwaways to heart rending beauty...

I often manage to just miss his shows though too...
