I've been playing the Black Books dvd commentaries in the background, and I have to say these are the funniest commentaries I've ever heard. If only for underlining how similar Dylan, Bill and Tamsin are too their characters, and how the chemistry they have in the show is so freakin natural. Funny fuckers. In a few years time I hope people realise that in Dylan Moran we had a new Leonard Rossiter.

Question- How good is Sports Night?
Answer- Pretty damn good.
Question- Does it have it's faults?
Answer- For sure. A little smug at times, and the laughter track is the most appallingly applied laughter track in the history of those grotesque things.
Question- How cute is Josh Charles?
Answer- Not as cute as Robert Sean Leonard, but of all the Dead Poet allumni he comes closest.
Question- How many jokes that are later used in the West Wing were first used in Sports Night?
Answer- A fair few, and a few of the more dramatic lines, indeed plots are lifted straight from one to another.
Question- What does this mean?
Answer- Not a lot, although I suppose you could argue that Aaron Sorkin is either short of ideas, or is aware that some can be improved with time and money.
Question- Do I understand many of the actual Sports references?
Answer- Nope.
Question- How much did I squee to see real life married couple Felicity Huffman and Willam H Macy on screen bantering like motherfuckers?
Answer- I squeed like a motherfucker, who finds out he has a million mothers.
Question- Why did I find this show so much fun?
Answer- Because unlike so many comedies it doesn't mistake cruel for being clever, and whilst it's a tad smug it doesn't roll around on the floor rubbing it's own sheer satisfaction all over its self.

According to an interview on TwoP, Jason Dohring (AKA Logan) will soon be in a movie playing Timothy McVeigh. He talks about the possibility of losing weight and taking on his mannerisms. That will totally creep me out.

I read that, the delighful bit where he admitted that the mad hand movements are a little more about him as an actor trying so hard, then they are about him being Logan. Well that bit was just darling.

1) omg he is <heather>marriaged</heather>? I was under the impression that he was actually sixteen, or close to it.

3) Even though I check TWOP fairly regularly I had no idea this existed. Thanks boys.
4) I can't believe there is STILL A WEEK LEFT UNTIL THE NEW EPISODES.
Why do you hate us, UPN?

Yeah, he certainly comes off as adorable in that interview. It also completely, 100% unsurprising that he has Brando and James Dean fascinations, since Logan is pretty much a Method James Dean character.

Christallmighty, seven seasons? I seriously had no idea.
I'm currently looking into renting season 5 to see if I actually want to buy it eventually. Plus, I NEED to see how Zoey's kidnapping pans out.

In a really boring way.
I've been watching Season One of
Deadwood
when I've been on breaks at my secret meeting. I'm up to "Suffer the Little Children", which features a pre-
Veronica Mars
Kristin Bell as an awesome prostitute.

I still contend that Deadwood's writing is laughable.

Did anyone else see the news today that The WB and UPN are merging? It'll be called "The CW" (ahahahahahaha) and will start next fall. The good news, for us here, is that in announcing this they also announced a Season 3 of Veronica Mars, and hinting that it will be paired with Gilmore Girls (which means both a higher rated lead-in, and a Tuesday-night-not-against-Lost timeslot).

Haha, I saw Maaik's post and thought everyone was still talking about the West Wing. My bad.
Still, though, Season 3! Veronica goes to college! Wackiness ensues!
Edit: Also Dawn Ostroff as Creative Director will be beneficial to some former WB-shows, as they will probably get less network interference. Sadly, this might mean fewer Smallville "stripper" episodes.

This is indeed good news. The only thing that I was afraid of, and this has since been refuted/I have been called dumb by Dude Who I Was Furiously IMing With About This (DWIWFIMWAT) was
what if they made it a pay cable station that I couldn't get anymore
? and DWIWFIMWAT was all "...um, they're making it a bigger station to
compete with the networks
." And I was all "oh."
Though it does make me wonder what's going to happen to, like,
Eve
