I just watched me some Homicide Season 4 today. Got some good Lewis & Howard case-closing action. Pembleton shocking us all with his fake spanish: "El suck-o the big-o wiener-o"; Giardello blurting out some un-subtitled italian; Bayliss worries about The Gay a whole season before he comes out as bi; Munch gets busy with a lady played by Belzer's real-life wife; and Brodie's coming back, yay!
I still don't like Kellerman. Am I supposed to get to like him better as the series wears on? I don't remember liking him the few times I caught the show when it was on the air, but now that I'm reviewing the whole thing thoroughly, I actually have time to think about the characters. I love Kay Howard, and omg, Melissa Leo's in a new movie!

i actually watched the shield before i ever saw the wire. the first season of it is pretty excellent, especially any stories involving dutch, but the second season is fucking amazing. and very intense, too.

I love(d) that show so damn much til they fired Aaron Sorkin. He was the glue of it, and it's been the same plots since he left and a lot of hamminess.

Wow how did I miss that until today. I agree about the show being crap once Sorkin left, but it experienced a bit of a renaissance this year, and even when the writing was poor, the acting was always top-notch.
