Which reduced my Grudging Respect for Macs Factor by a few decimal points. I mean, RISC obviously is the better design and Macs were the last outpost for that in consumer electronics, Intel-like chips are winning out only because so much more money has been invested in developing them than RISC chips.

If you have to shift single bits around by hand for a living, it'll seem important to you as well.

No, it won't change everything since it was the original, the Divine Plan, CISC being the electronic equivalent of eating the apple in the Garden. God made the bit-shift - all else is the work of man
