So excited that there's gonna be a new Scott Walker CD coming out in May called "The Drift"!  It took me a long time to get into to "tilt" but now I absolutely love it and can't wait to hear what comes next.  Anyone else dig Scott's stuff?

awwwwwesome.

"funeral tango" may be my favorite song ever.

which reminds me, I want to make a mix of songs wherein people laugh.

OOOH! scott! the best 'waving your arms about in the air' music! the best 'piss off the working girls' music! oh Scott!

ps, best song with laughing is Bo Diddley's "The Story of Bo Diddley". Makes me laugh too Very Happy

songs people laugh during:

david bowie - the laughing gnome
pink floyd - scream thy last scream old woman with a casket (it's sped-up laughter too)

scott walker:

i've been borrowing one of my roommate's scott walker cds for two weeks or so and still haven't listened to it. hasn't seemed like the right time yet. soon, though.

Hell yeah.  Scott 4's become one of my total favorites over the last year or so, just brilliant stuff.  I finally bought Tilt last month.  It surprised me that it wasn't as inaccessible as I had been fearing, I've been listening to it a lot lately.  Very excited for the new one.

Oh yeah, I heard about this! I have a friend works for Beggars Banquet (i.e. 4AD) and she was telling me what it sounded like (doesn't get me much closer to hearing it myself: I guess I'll just have to wait). Anyway, it seems like it'll be every bit as unusual as Tilt was.

i've never heard this song before, but just by name alone it's begging to be put on a mixtape with "cemetery polka" by tom waits.
