Awesome Awesome Awesome!
You know what's not awesome, though? That I had to pass through Milledgeville on the way to Savannah. I don't know how you survived that, man. Place is as fucking depressing as any other town I've visited in the Deep South. Granted, it was gray and raining and sort of empty, but I've noticed the dispiriting atmosphere on sunny days, too.
I mean, circumstances are what you make of them, and I know you have some good memories of the place that I don't mean to step on...

No dude, I agree. That place is a soul sucker which is salvaged only through the relationships you have there.

Well, you drove down for my wedding, drove to Athens after that... unless you got horribly lost or continued down to Florida after Athens, there's really no excuse for you to have wound up in M'ville.

No, I got married in Covington. Well, Oxford, really, but basically Covington. Milledgeville is about an hour and half southeast of there in middle Georgia.

Was that during Athfest? Somebody from the board called me to meet up, but it never happened...who was that? When was that?

Yeah, that was Greg and Coldie the day of my wedding. Our anniversary will forever fall right in the middle of Athfest.

I've always had something of a soft spot for Covington.

Totally! We were there relatively long. We wandered around but we never found your band. We did eat at one of the diners there, one that's kind of 50s themed and staffed by hipsters. I think we found a livable bar or two after that.

Sounds like Clocked!
Yes?
That would've been on the main Athfest block, a couple doors down from Flicker--the cinema geeks' bar (and my favorite, though I'm no cinema geek)--and the 40 Watt Club on the corner, where all the main action was taking place. If I was in Casper & the Cookies at the time, we would've been playing there.
That sucks we didn't connect, but Athfest is a crowded, hectic time. Did you catch any bands?

No, it wasn't that one. It was bigger, with more chrome and Coke signs. I don't THINK we actually saw any of the bands, but to be honest we might have saw a couple briefly, or with poor attention.

Ah, The Grill:
A block away from UGA's north campus quad, a wee bit outside the Athfest fray.
