Lists I have been planning to compile specifically for this thread but which when it comes down to it I am either far too lazy and unambitious to even bother with or it turns out they're actually just stupid ideas anyway:
¥ A list which compiles the titles of every list posted to this thread
¥ A list of things which Justin Timberlake wants, according to the lyrics of his songs. (eg: You, to be his love.)

Things that have made me go 'hmmm' today
* Why am I still buying Uncut magazine when it seems to be about half as thick as it used to be, twice as expensive as it used to be and now has the journalistic standards of a tabloid newspaper?
* Why when you miss a bus by mere seconds, is the next one ALWAYS late??
* Why has it taken me this long to import my Smiths cds onto this computer?

I always get the three "out of service" busses in a row zip by before mine finally arrives.
Or at the train station, you five go by in the opposite direction before even one gets to your platform.

Ah the joys of public transport eh?
The bus I catch to work in the morning is really frequent, but they bunch together a lot...so its not unknown for me to watch three busses drive off as Im running to the stop *sigh*

cover songs i have recently worked out a pretty decent version of:
1) Hank Williams: Cold, Cold Heart
2) ___________: Alpha Negative
3) Daniel Johnston: Some Things Last a Long Time
4) The Rolling Stones: Let it Bleed
i'm getting better with my ears, i'm getting better with my fingers, my repertoire is increasing. soon i will be all-powerful. nothing can stop me.

unless the golden age of not being shit that you're referring to was more than about eight years ago (the last time i bought a copy, soon after the first time), then i'm pretty sure uncut has always been shit.
i can't argue with the size/cost points though. magazines are constantly pissing me off with that stuff.
i was going to post a list i made today but it's pretty long and boring so i'll settle for being snarky about another perfectly well-intentioned human being's personal choice of magazine.

No, you're probably right. When I used to buy it a lot (and yes I am talking 7 or 8 years ago), it was because it had lots of articles on bands I was interested in at the time i.e. 'classic' artists like the stones, kinks etc etc. But I'm sure if I read any of those articles now I'd be dissapointed in the quality of writing.
I really only buy music magazines now when Im desperate for something shallow to read in my lunch break. Its a waste of money and Im not proud.

Man I'll bet you get all sorts of classy junkmail.
It took me a few issues to realize that the Economist is dry, pedantic pap, but I'm the better for it now.

I was thinking you meant Newtown Creek, Brooklyn... or where you talking about some nice place somewhere else? Cause the one in Brooklyn is lined by many superfund sites plus the
Greenpoint oil spill
, among other things. I wouldn't want to see the fish that came out of it. Or have they been cleaning it up lately?
