and man, fuck that usb turntable, it's just eliminating one very simple step.
this is what i want for a turntable:
pro-ject debut III, $299 for matte black, 329 for your choice between 8 super sexy colors. audiophile turntable for only a couple hundred bucks? fuck yeah!

So erm, I know it's against the spirit of the thread, but I got that turntable for Christmas. It sounds great! I have boring black though.

you bastard. that's pretty sweet. i'm close to buying it, but i'm also close to buying a replacement car stereo, which would be only ~60% of the price, and i don't really want to get several large things at once. also i rarely listen to vinyl, for a few reasons, and i don't really want to spend that much on just the hope that it'll get me to start.

I mean, it got me to start. Personally, I'd rather listen to vinyl at home and sing to myself in the car, which is actually what I do cause I'm car stereo-less.

my car stereo just eats balls and forces me to listen to "boston's most blazin' hip-hop & RnB!" because it's too shitty to listen to anything else. so i'm getting a kenwood head (with mini input- crucial) and infinity speakers.
also on the audio front, i know know for a fact you will not get this for christmas, and it is amazing:
Steinway makes a stereo.

i have a decent cd player in my car, but only one speaker works at all, and it's shorted out so badly that i can barely get it to play for more than 5 minutes at a time.
i should really just go get new speakers installed, but i feel a little weird about taking my 83 volvo to one of those "audio express" type places where they'll probably talk me into buying speakers that are worth more than the car.

www.crutchfield.com
baby
they usually include all the wire harnesses and everything to install it yourself, and no matter how much you spend, it'll sound better than '83 volvo speakers. also if you tell them what kind of car you've got, it'll only give you results that fit that car.
though it sounds like your wiring is just fucked up.

oh yeah, i know that, but it seems a little silly to rewire it just to keep using the factory speakers.
