;* apparently equates to embarrassment or at least that's what I've come to know it as through journaling sites.

Since I finally registered, and Alexandra said I should sally forth and be not afraid and etc. etc....

Name: Kristin
Age: 22
Three Bands you like: Dirty Three, Songs:Ohia, John Vanderslice (not a band, but comes equipped with a pretty damn good one)
Favorite movie: Radio Free Steve
Favorite book: A Place of Greater Safety, by Hilary Mantel
Favorite comic strip: I'm embarrassed to admit I don't read any. I do like graphic novels, though.
Which goonie would you want to share a studio apartment with? And I have never seen The Goonies.
Skills/hobbies: Fiddling, extreme sarcasm, writing odd little stories, falling up/down stairs gracefully, dreaming up grandiose plans for creative success.
Skills/hobbies you wish you had: The ability to write three-minute pop songs of such extraordinary perfection that all those hearing them would instantly understand the physical experience of a broken heart. Also, mad ninja skillz. And a good understanding of analog recording.
Last CD you bought: Page France, Hello, Dear Wind
Was it good? Yeah, but not as good as the band's live show.
Favorite poem: currently James Tate, "The Radish"
Best popsicle flavor: Dude, popsicles are gross. Give me something with straight-up chocolate in or surrounding it.
Favorite instrument: I'm tempted to say cello, but on the other hand the human voice always ends up coming up with some new way to amaze me-- i.e., Sacred Harp harmony or Tuvan throat-singing.
Favorite word: [incredibly, amazingly, fantastically, unbelievably]
Favorite word for kiss: I am of the opinion that there is no non-awkward word for kiss in the English language, and I am pretty dubious about the potential of other languages I'm familiar with, too.

Greg-- I will read anything with pictures, really, from Marjane Satrapi on down to Hellblazer. Just finished a super cool collection of Etgar Keret stories illustrated by various artists. I'm really liking this idea of themed collections by various artists; I haven't read the new Belle & Sebastian one but I want to.

Alexandra-- again with the s's! So many s's!
