for just a moment there, hannah turned into DKT's older sister!
And welcome, Emily! While I strongly disagree with your choice of popsicle flavor, I'm glad that you're here!

Watching that exchange transpire and vanish very nearly validates the pathological clicking through of the circuit of links on my favorites page that is currently fending off the doldrums while I sit here bored.

things i have to say in response to the past page or so of posts:
1) what the heck just happened with hannah and dkt here? i'm lost.
2) the goonies:
from left to right: andie (kerri green), brandon (josh brolin), mouth (corey feldman), mikey (sean astin), data (ke huy quan), chunk (jeff cohen), stef (martha plimpton). not pictured: sloth (john matuszak). heh heh.
3) nick, the poem you posted totally made me cry. i loved it.
4) irrationale, the poem you posted made my head explode. i feel like i should print it out, carry it around with me for the next month, and study it whenever i get any free time. after al that, maybe i'd be able to comment on it. as it is, i'm just kind of blown away.

most obvious difference between me on the first page and me now is that i don't give a strawberry about capitalization on the introweb anymore.
or grammar, for that matter.
i want to do this all again, because i think it's been enough time between then and now to warrant it, but i don't know if i have any good new pictures.
edit: woah hey!

Favorite book: Institute Benjamenta by Robert Walser
Which translation do you have. out of curiosity? Mine's titled Jakob von Gunten. I had assumed that the Quays took the name of their film from the book, but didn't realize the book had been released under that title as well.

Christopher Middleton's translation - published by Serpent's Tail in the UK.
As far as I know, it's the same as the US one. But I think it was published in the UK to coincide with the Brothers Quay film so that may have been why the title got changed.

I'm gonna repost this on this page because I feel cheated!
Name:
Daniel Chase Peach.
Age:
Twenty.
Three Bands you like:
Modest Mouse, Spoon, Pearl Jam.
Favorite movie:
Annie Hall or All the Real Girls or Magnolia.
Favorite book:
Independence Day by Richard Ford.
Favorite comic strip:
PBF.
Which member of the team from The Sandlot would you want to share a studio apartment with?
Michael "Squints" Palledorous.
Skills/hobbies:
I play drums and take pictures.
Sillls/hobbies you wish you had:
I would like to play the guitar.
Last CD you bought:
M. Ward's Post-War.
Was it good?
Not as good as the Transfiguration of Vincent but better than Transistor Radio. The song "Post-War" is one of the best he's ever done. Between that one song on here ("Magic Trick"?) and the first song on that I'm Wide Awake album by Bright Eyes, I'd say that Jim James isn't really cut out for back up vocals. Sounds great in MMJ but something about his voice sounds weird unless it's singing lead.
Favorite poem:
I'm very uncultured and etc. so I don't really have a poem that is my Favorite or anything. I do like this poem by Bukowski though (even though I don't normally care much for him):
sleeping woman
I sit up in bed at night and listen to you
snore
I met you in a bus station
and now I wonder at your back
sick white and stained with
children's freckles
as the lamp divests the unsolvable
sorrow of the world
upon your sleep.
I cannot see your feet
but I must guess that they are
most charming feet.
wo do you belong to?
are you real?
I think of flowers, animals, birds
they all seem more than good
and so clearly
real.
yet you cannot help being a
woman. we are each selected to be
something. the spider, the cook.
the elephant. it is as if we were each
a painting hung on some
gallery wall.
-and now the painting turns
upon its back, and over a curving elbow
I can see 1/2 a mouth, one eye an
almost a nose.
the rest of you is hidden
out of sight
but I know that you are a
contemporary, a modern living
work
perhaps not immortal
but we have
loved.
please continue to
snore.
Best popsicle flavor:
Blue or red. Blue.
Favorite instrument:
The tamborine with a lot of reverb.
Favorite word:
Tremolo.
Favorite word for kiss:
Kiss.

Why do you feel cheated? Is it because the pic of Reese blowin' a J simply dominates the lower portion of that page?
The pics of you getting kicked in the chest and holding a baby tiger are pretty rad, though.

It's always great when this thread gets a shot in the arm from the next generation, or from the old hands who've been reluctant until now.
Quote from: "Gracelette"
Favorite book: Institute Benjamenta by Robert Walser
Quote from: "Nick Ink"
Favorite book: Nights At The Circus by Angela Carter
Anyone else spot the parallel here? Maybe it's just me, because I collect examples of Robert-John pairings, but there's a character in the Carter book called Jack Walser, if I'm not mistaken.
I know because a friend of mine and his theatre buddies (US, UK and Canadian) put on a show in Dublin a couple of years ago called 'Hatched' based on the story of Fevvers and her circus chums, for which I did the poster. If I can find a copy of it at home later I'll try to post it.
I was looking at this thread last night and ended up reading the whole thing through from page 1, which was an interesting exercise. Better than sleeping? Maybe not...
It's funny to see the people who put pretty intimate details up (giving good blowjobs?
) and then vanished after 20 posts or so, or the ones who post 300 times in a few days and disappear. I'd never even heard of Luscious until last night, then *poof* she was gone.
And then to stumble across Leslie's post... Not so much fun.
Anyway, my details are still pretty accurate, though like Reese I have an amazing picture of myself that I'm just gagging to post somewhere. Maybe soon.
(No, hannah, I'm not in my birthday suit in this one.)
PS If anyone's thinking of updating, making new profiles like Reese and Alexandra, instead of editing the ones in the early pages, is much better.

Two things:
I play the singing saw, and I got a haircut so bad that we called it "the asshat." Now, there are a handful of people who also call me that. This makes me paranoid that you know me.
Of course, no one on these forums has seen
me
either (Oh, wait, stephanie has, technically, but I had longer hair and possibly a beard.) So, it's possible that NO ONE WILL BELIEVE WHO I SAY I AM EITHER!
oooh!
