Steve Stone, the voice of Cubbie baseball for the past 27 years, and therefore my lifetime, resigned yesterday. Stone was a great color commentator and did an excellent job mixing his love for the ballclub with objective analysis. I think I'm gonna miss the fellow.
Edit: I got my math wrong, i think it's been 21 years.

I hadn't heard. Holy shit. For me, Steve Stone's voice pretty much IS baseball, along with Vin Scully's, anyhow.

I don't think I've ever heard a Harry Carey impression that didn't begin with, "I'm Harry Carey here with Steve Stone."
