I was picturing her as like, New Zealand's answer to jordanmichael. Is she even a kiwi? I was assuming that from the time of day she normally posts, too, since there are many early mornings where it's just drunk me and a bunch of kiwis on the board.

LSLN is a girl? Man, I'm terrible at this game.
I saw the pictures and I was still wondering.
Because:

Haha I'm a guy, I got that picture by googling [yeah, it's a verb, FUCK YOU] "tea headphones".
So, whatever, back to my bleeding vagina.

Contrary to everyone else (and the TRUTH!), I always assumed you were a girl.

Flattered. But my whole set of first posts were in the engagement thread I started, where I thought I made it clear I was male. I thought everyone here read every post by everyone ever?

You should really post a picture of yourself. I want to be vindicated in my belief of your jordanmichaeltude.
You can murk it before any of the cute kiwi girls see.

so what we're saying is there's no real way to know if that's tea or not.

Exactly. Also, I didn't want to bring this up originally because I was afraid of coming across as an incessant disbeliefer, but how can we be sure that that person is even listening to music at all? There are so many different interpretations of the picture:
(a) The person is sipping tea while listening to Vampire Weekend. This is what you want to have us believe, but frankly, I'm not really buying it.
(b) The person is sipping tea, but listening to something that is NOT Vampire Weekend. I guess here your argument is that VW and other kinds of music are logically interchangable, and that the fact that it is possible to listen to any music at all while drinking tea means that it would also be possible to listen to VW while drinking tea. But I have not seen any conclusive proof for this claim.
(c) The person is sipping tea, but not listening to any music at all, they just happen to be wearing headphones. In fact, the very reason they are wearing headphones might be in order to block out sounds, such as the sound of the Vampire Weekend album that their roommate is blasting at full volume in the other room, that would otherwise disturb their enjoyment of a nice mug of tea.
(d-ü) I won't list them seperately because Alistair and I have brought this up before, but there are also various other scenarios that cast doubt on the tea-ness of the drink contained in the mug. Perhaps it's just a fruit or herbal infusion, which some people erroneously refer to as tea, but which is an entirely different thing altogher - this might explain why the picture showed up in the google search. Perhaps it is cocoa. Could be coffee, even. Or maybe the mug is empty altogether. If you look at the angle in which the girl holds it, which would be a rather dangerous one if the mug was actually full, that is absolutely a possibility.

See, I just tried (for full transparency, the experimental set-up involved the song "Oxford Comma", my laptop computer and a pair of Sennheiser HD201s, as well as a 'Sendung mit der Maus' mug and some jasmine-flavoured green tea) and it was not a full success. The tea in my mug, admittedly not freshly brewed just before the experiment but nonetheless not entirely cold, cooled down immediately, and I feel that it lost a bit of its flavour, too. So while it was physically possible to perform these two actions at the same time, I do feel that they interfered with each other to some extent. So, yes, I could see myself turning off the sound of Vampire Weekend while muttering to myself "Eh, I'd rather have a cup of tea" and pouring myself another mug.

I only worked it out when she said she was going to talk about her bleeding vagina.
And now I realize that the she I was refering to was Ashley, who brought up her bleeding vagina leading me to realize that she was a girl, and it is only that I see that little six is a) a lad, and b) not ashley. I'm not sure how I mixed those two up.
Carry on talking about the over privileged band of the month.

I'm gonna assume that's Francis, Reese and Malcolm during the theme song.
I'm also going to completely reject alex's statement by saying that as I sat down with a mug and switched on
One
(or
Blake's Got A New Face
as it is better known) Not only did the substance in the mug start to taste better, it turned from Milo (which it was previously) into a fine chinese lychee tea. I then turned off the record and put it on the shelf with all the other crap, cause let's face it, I'm over it.

the show was fun, dancing with my sister was the best, we yelled a lot about cape cod and punctuation (two things near and dear to our hearts) and i find the songs stuck in my head quite a bit. should be good spring driving music. you don't want to pay attention to the words though, and it's definitely more for a passive listening experience. still, way more enjoyable than i'd expected.

About the "You are not the boss of me" thing, or what? I believe people are just debating the various associations they have with the phrase; on the one hand, an album by the band Sicko (of which Salkin Red posted the cover pic), on the other hand, a line from the theme song to 'Malcolm in the Middle'.

Ah right. Yeah, Francis and Reese are the names of Malcolm's brothers. They don't look much like the people on the Sicko cover, really.
