I'm pretty sure it was Frost who said, 'It's not a poem unless it ends with "I Love You".'

Today, in a fit of idealism, I decided that pragmatism is unbecoming of those under 40.

Since "pragmatism" necessarily realizes that the world is fucked up beyond repair and hence leads invariably to the consumption of large volumes of alcohol, I support pragmatism.

9:59: New game: Wii Fit. Pressure sensitive pads that can detect your movement. Pushups, Yoga, folks getting all sweaty. Lady doing a hula hoop kind of deal -- looks pretty cool. Two of the pressure-sensitive pads have been brought out onto the stage, which seems to me that -- oh dear, I have a feeling we'll see Reggie and Miyamoto do some stairsteppin'. The game tracks your BMI over time and has lots of mini games that take advantage of hte pressure sensitive pad. Wait, nevermind, the demo people just hit the stage.

Dude, I'm all over that!! http://www.destructoid.com/e3-2007-liveblogging-the-nintendo-press-conference-34893.phtml

I just sat down with a couple of fried eggs, but I forgot the knife and fork. There's a teaspoon in my coffee...I suppose I could use that.

that is amazing

i have to admit, nintendo is making all the right moves right now.

I hear the Wiii has drastically reduced the ratings of TV in Japan because more people are spending the block of time once dedicated to TV to the Wii. In my persoal opn: I like Wii tennis much as the next peep but I mean...the wiimote is not really very accurate. Boxing is just a f guessing game. It's fun because it's so stupid. Tennis I'm all about...though. Anyway enough about my personal feelings on the matter. They went after the casual gaming community and they got the casual gaming community. Good job Nintendo! I wish I owned all of your STOCK.

I am, of course, all about Sony. I am waiting to brush my tender lovin all over the final Metal Gear. Not happy with MSOFT. My shit is broken. ALL OF THEM BREAK. I barely used mine. One day my nephew came and tried to turn it on and it gave the red ring of doom.

Edit. And when I called, some dude who could barely speak English and who was friendly enough, acted like he'd never heard of this happening. He was like, "what is the color of the power supply."

me: "i'm at work. but i can tell you right now it's green."

blah blah. A half hour later. "we will be sending you a box in the mail. blah blah."

"ok."

"before i go, one more time tell me what steps you took when the console showed the red.."

etc

3 wks later, microsoft admits their is a PROBLEM and they are spending 1 billion to correct it. great, so what about those fucking minutes i sat on the phone explainin to this dude from New Delhi the steps i took to correct a problem they knew about.

yeah don't buy one of these.

I have been using my X-box for years without a problem, but I've gone through 3 PS2s in that time.  OK one of them was used and the second was stolen, but still.  I love my PS2 but I doubt I'll be getting a PS3.  However I'll be getting an Xbox 360 probably not too long after Halo 3 is released 'cause I am a giant tool.

Anyway, enough about wii boxing and wii tennis.  The real showdown is, wii bowling or wii golf?  And the answer is, I don't have a wii Sad  But I played them at my brother's place one time and they were fun.

funny, i've had the same PS2 for something like 6 or 7 years and it works as if it were new. i don't use it much though.

360s may be dropping like flies, but the fact remains that all of my friends own one, and i have still never seen a PS3 in real life.

If I can't run Fallout 3 on any of my machines when it's released, I will buy either an Xbox or a Playstation. It'd be cheaper than buying a new PC, and I'm pretty sure I will not be able to function knowing that F3 is available and I am not playing it. I am also a huge tool.

I've been replaying Fallout 2 for the last couple weeks, and holy shit, nine years later it's still just about the most entertaining game I've ever played.

Yah, original xboxes are fucking built chevy tough.  I had one of those and a dog was all chewing on the cords, there was beer spilled on it, etc, and my friends would still be able to come over to play drunken games of Halo. But Nvidia or some chipmaker designed the original. PS2's have horrible quality. The lasers die in a ny minute.

The 360 was designed by some dude at Microsoft and then they got the cheapest parts from all over and had them put together. Peeps with the red rings were wrapping em with towels because they ran so hot they could possibly remelt some of the components or whatever. they are just shit. Re: this is a good read from the newsweek gaming blog dude http://blog.newsweek.com/blogs/levelup/archive/2007/07/10/why-microsoft-must-be-more-forthcoming-about-xbox-360-flaws-or-initiate-a-recall.aspx

On the other hand, the ps3 is built like the original xbox, and it's pretty. It's worth the extra $100. I really LIKE it. I play it over the WII and that broke ass shit Xbox 360 ghetto hussy. Motion controls on MOTORSTORM are batshit insane. Resistance Fall of Man is fucking nuts with bullets that shoot through walls and shit. In this game The Darkness, I had my ingame character watch half of that movie uh... to kill a mockinbird which I haven't seen since 7th grade sociology. Serious. Your character chills at his girlfriend's pad and you can just sit and watch the ENTIRE MOVIE with her. ps3 much love.

Fallout forever! Need t shirts.

Halo 3

it's funny how two words can totally fuck up your ideas about your future spending. i hate that i love halo so much when i don't really want an xbox at all.

September 25th, man.  And since my birthday is September 27th I can probably whine like a little baby until someone buys it for me.  And, y'know, the Xbox 360 to go with it.  Very Happy

I think I'm going to buy myself a caravan. It'll probably work on cheaper in the long run then renting one. All I've got to do now is come up with a grand by the end of August.
