I know man!  I was all excited when they released those, and saw there was one in "Chicago."  Note the scare-quotes.  Fucking 63rd and Oak Park Ave?  Might as well be in Egypt.

Quote from: my cousin's husband in an email just now
This weekend, I would like to take some short (5-10 seconds or longer if you desire…perhaps a whole song if you would like) video clips of you with some encouraging comments (like: "you can do it", "keep pushing", "epidurals for wimps", "get'em killer", etc…) for Amy when she is amidst her upcoming battle…

Would someone be willing to do some videoing (of some of the guests doing the same thing) secretively at the baby shower? We could set you up with a video camera and tripod in hidden location to catch a few others…

I will look forward to see you (preferably no baby suits…otherwise a costume would be ok…but only if you so desire) guys this weekend.

um.

What the F?

Costumes?  Is this a furry-themed baby shower?  Also, why doesn't she want an epidural?

Also, calling a person "killer" while they're giving birth strikes me as... odd.

It is traditional in Wisconsin to dress up as farm animals for special occasions. I was a horse at my high school prom.

"Amidst her upcoming battle" strikes me as not right. We are having a baby shower for my cousin tomorrow and she is so very pregnant that she could start birthing in the middle of the shit. I have no idea what he is referring to with the costumes, nor did I know that she doesn't want an epidural.

I would just like to say that I derive joy more than once a day from the fact that the title of this thread is "random" 5 times, because it causes me to happily sing-song it in my head every time I see it.

Roadtripping up to Oregon last week without my laptop was about as close to Easy Rider as my life gets these days, but still, it did give me at least a temporary reprieve from my internet addiction, which carried over for at least a few days on returning to the homefront--I've been getting up at 7, running, and then spending my days in amazingly productive ways all this week. Until now, I guess, but fuck it, I need a break.

Hey, if "a friend" is 22 and still has a huge smattering of freckles all up on her face, is it safe to say "this friend" will continue to have a large portion of freckles for the rest of her life?

For serious, your "friend" can take great comfort in the fact that she has been well-decorated by the gods.

As such, your "friend" can be assured that for the foreseeable future, she is gonna get "sooooo laiiiiid"

I have wanted freckles all my life.  the best I can do is freckly shoulders in summer.  maybe I'll start drawing freckles on my face.  freckles are COOL!  (tell your friend I said so.)

Hannita, you should let your friend know that exposure to the sun causes freckles, and if she wants to minimize them, she oughta wear sunblock.

Something's going on with Google.  I have it set as my homepage, and four times during the past two days, I've opened it to find someone else's page rather than my own.

We haven't had a significant amount of rain in weeks. The grass is the color of hay. The ground is as hard as the sidewalk. My brother dove while playing ultimate frisbee today and scratched his stomach all to hell because the grass blades are needles. We need a good soaking.

I won a bunch of tickets playing skee ball tonight.  Also that arcade horserace game where you roll a cue ball into different holes to make your horse move.

I did not cash them in.  Yet.

About a month or so ago, I was out running in the sun, and then took a shower.  I got out of the shower, and noticed something brown on my forehead.  I was like "What the F?  I just washed!  What the hell is this thing?"  And I scrubbed and scrubbed for about a minute before I realized it was just a new little spattering of freckles.

Right now, I think mine are a little less noticeable, as the summer sun's making me tanner, and my Greek pigmentation's catching up with the Scottish.  HELL OF GOLDEN Y'ALL

Have a safe flight and an excellent trip, Alexandra!

Re: freckles, I feel neither one way nor the other about mine (except for the being-susceptible-to-horrible-sunburn and readily-falling-prey-to-skin-cancer parts), and I realize living in Los Angeles certainly hasn't helped matters, but I suppose I'm just surprised I still have so many at 22. As far as I know, no one else in my family has freckles, except my mom on her shoulders. I assumed, I guess, that all except a few would have gone the way of passenger pigeons by now.

Oh, and another RANDOM RANDOM x 2.5 thing... for Milly/Jon, whom I spoke to last night! (What the FUCK?): the ultimate in conspiracy theories!
