Has anyone seen Original Gangstas? When it came out I thought it looked lame, but now I'm kind of intrigued by it. Worth checking out?

We watched Stranger Than Fiction last night.  I expected it to be pretty good, despite Will Ferrell being in it, it looked really good in the previews.  It far exceeded my expectations.  Go out and rent it if you haven't seen it yet.

Stranger Than Fiction, its relative quality aside, was lightweight as fuck.

I just e-mailed all the New Hampshirites I know in NYC, encouraging them to come see Live Free or Die Hard on Sunday.  I can't wait!  Bruce Willis!  Doing his action moves in New Hampshire!  It's gonna be a great film!

And it was! We went on opening night. Loved it, of course.  Die Hard movies

i saw live free or die hard this weekend, and, from the perspective of a day later, it was pretty bad ass.  i could have done with out the master villain being this 20 something year old stock broker looking dude, but still, bruce fought a jet fighter on a freeway coil with a truck.  maybe the best stunt in movies ever.

O gods, I just saw Live Free Or Die Hard.

There is the longest fucking essay just waiting to be written about this film.

In fact, I think I'm going to try to get a bootleg DVD off the street and work on that.

Holy fuck, I have never seen a movie that screamed "Fertile Territory For Critical Analysis" like this one did.

I am perfectly willing to admit that what I have against Will Ferrell is prejudice, prejudice by association.  I have never seen Undeclared, so all I knew previously were his shitty movies.  I will try to check that out sometime now.

The Case of the Bloody Iris is a perfunctory 1971 giallo thriller, but because my lady has come to share my crush on Edwige Fenech, it was enjoyable to watch. It gets bonus points for including a dude who's an exact replica of Woody Allen, except as a swinging Italian photographer, and for not making the lesbian the killer.

Babel was good, but my girlfriend hated it because she doesn't like films where things are clearly going to end badly. we had a huge fight about whether the plot's general happiness/togetherness mattered so much in movies like that.

but i really liked it. i liked the ending, i felt happy after watching it, and i've been thinking about different bits of it occasionally over the last couple of days. good movie.
