I was craving a chicken salad melt.

As I am at my downtown office today, I sauntered downstairs to this little cafe that happens to make awesome chicken salad.

Now, as I type this, my craving is being sated.

Now I want egg salad.  Mmm, egg salad sandwich on Captain John Derst's potato bread, so lightly toasted that it's mostly just warmed, but has just a hint of crunch... Oh god damnit.

Being an east coaster through & through, I'm utterly fascinated by the concept of fry sauce.  Every time my friend from Salt Lake talks about it, it takes on the aura of some mythical concoction only procurable in the torch-lit alleyways of exotic ports. 

So yeah, since I obviously can't find it in North Carolina, is there a recipe you can point me to?  Is it worth ordering online?  Or are you guys blowing it out of proportion completely?

Dude it is delicious.

Artic Circle invented it in like the early '50s, and now all the fast food places around there have some variation, pretty much.

The AC recipe is a HUGE secret, they keep it in an Ethan Hunt-proof vault.

So... there are a million differentiating recipes online but it is worth ordering, the Some Dudes' stuff is a really tasty substitute.

After looking at a bunch of sites describing it, it kind of sounds like that pinkish "shrimp sauce" stuff they serve at Japanese steakhouses?  It's also ketchup/mayo based, has a similar look to it and it's da bomb. Either way, I love culinary esoterica so I's gonna order me some fry sauce.

Oh, so we got the BaconSalt a few days ago.  It's fucking great.  Yesterday, while watching cartoons, we sprinkled it on some hot buttered popcorn, and god damn I am craving that right now.  It is delicious, it is delicious.

It tastes like smokiness, yes, but also there's a slight porcine undertone.  What I mean to say is that yes, it does indeed taste like some bacon.  Oh, the things I've been sprinkling it on!

Hmm... these eggs sure could taste a lot more like BACON!

This sandwich might benefit from tasting a bit like BACON!

These chicken fingers seem to markedly lacking in the flavor of BACON!

Oh nachos, when will you learn to taste more like BACON!

I just licked my finger, and will shortly lick it again, once it has been made to taste like BACON!

I am now craving a tuna sandwich and also finishing the Deathly Hallows.
I do not believe that either of those things would be improved with bacon, incidentally.

It's 2:30 in the morning, so I know it's a bad idea, but I really, really want ice cream right now. . .  I'm thinking maybe I'll just add a scoop to the beer I'm working on. 

edit:  also, I need to see Monty Python and the Holy Grail like right now, but I have a copy, so that's not a problem.

for St. Patty's day last, we made Guinness ice cream at the restaurant... it was pretty much the greatest thing in the world; strong, too. We sold Guinness floats with Guinness ice cream which is not my bag but which was really awesome.

Why do I never put anything away?  I can't find the dvd, and I don't recall lending it out, so I'm watching Pulp Fiction instead. (and eating ice cream, not Guinness ice cream, though)

Oh, that sounds delicious.  My lurker-friend makes a pretty rad Guinness chocolate cake.
