i'm gonna close the store early today and go to the weekly meeting we have about starting a punkrock venue here in town late. it sucks that i am even in this position, but my boss went out of town this week, which means that i have to work the closing shift on a day that's normally my day off. and because it's normally my day off, that's the day we tend to schedule the meetings. so... this is the best compromise i could work out.

My first job was at a bakery.  I took it because they didn't care that I wasn't yet 16.  I stayed like 4 months.  It was the worst job in the history of jobs, actually, but I'm sure not all bakeries are like that one, so good luck, Beth!

I'm going out to dinner with one of my classes tonight!  Final exams are over, so this is the last time I'll ever see most of them.  It's going to be pretty bittersweet, no doubt.

I've got to be a 15-minute walk from my office in 2.5 hours' time for a meeting that's probably gonna suck quite a bit, however much I know it's for the best.

But I will not post more about it until it's happened cos I have a weird sense of decorum like that.

I live just far enough away that there's no point going home and coming back.

So I'm not sure how to kill the time. Probably stay here at work for another half an hour, then go see if I can find some sandals and/or summer boots at the open air market, then go sit in a park and write a letter. Meh.

Go to a ribfest.  Eat ribs.  Go to pub.  Drink microbrews.  Go to lake.  Go swimming.  Not necessarily in that order.  I might swim first.  We'll see what time dictates.  Will report back.

Hrm... Not really...  I know the guy who runs the Millwork Department... his name is Parker, but he has nothing to do with hiring unless they're looking for an employee in the Millwork dept. 

But hey it can't hurt to apply there.  They pay better than the Menards out here.
