I can't believe no one had a comment about Greg's peanut butter balls. . .

I made 'em for a family reunion a couple years back, and man, it was just comment after comment from my uncles: "Have you tried Greg's balls?"  "Greg's got great balls!"  "Thanks for bringing your balls, Greg!"

Anyway, the rain put a damper on the picnic-concert gathering, so we're gonna do it next Tuesday instead.

This time of year no one can resist my Schweaty balls...

'cause you gotta remember...

Fly boy was in the buttermilk, hard, livin' fast, livin' large, 6 foot 4 and not an ounce of fat!
When women asked, 'is you a Cat?' He said 'I did more that that.

I have no issue performing a 3 party wedding, as long as you all really love each other.

I have to be at work at 8:00 on a Sunday morning for a stupid pre-sale event that I'm sure no customers will actually be attending.  (Cranky much?)  I suppose it's bedtime.  Pleasant dreams, all!

I intend to read for a few hours before going for a picnic in Sherwood forest with kat and her kids, and tonight I'm either going to meet up with a guy or find somewhere that's showing the Copa America Final between Brazil and Argentina. The latter is seeming a little more appetising at the moment not only because my libido needs a little rest, but because that match is shaping up to be something a little special and I've not watched any football for a while.

Joy!  It looks like I'll be able to watch this.  I always forget that I get a local Spanish station, but I just checked and there's a pre-game show live now, the match starts in an hour!

Wow!  Four minutes in, GOAL!  This is gonna be sooo good!

edit:  also, it's raining, so I went outside naked--we can check that off my list.

girl, that reminds me of how i like to go to the pizza-by-the-slice place near eric's house when the futbal is on because i totally know all the cooks will have the spanish channel on and be blasting it so they can hear the calls over their cooking. i'm totally stoked about sitting there eating a piece of pizza and hearing "[so-rapid-as-to-be-incomprehensible-spanish] .... GOOOOOOOOOAAAAALLL!" and then 5 cooks in the back room explode into also-incomprehensible rapid italian. so awesome.

that reminds me, i went to that place the other day and had a calzone with mushrooms and black olives, and it was the BOMB.

i think right now i'm gonna go get a burrito from moe's though. i've been feeling that place lately.

I was in Madrid during a big soccer event (I'm not sure it was a world cup), but I was walking down the street during a game, and from every single window, house and business, all you could hear was the game.  It was awesome!

I couldn't find any bars showing the match, thus I miss out, but I'm now, finally following the match on the Guardian minute by minute. I'll probably go to bed before the match plays out though.

Barcelona is a similarly awesome place to watch fútbol.  even if you're not watching the game, you can easily tell who won by the cheerful or dejected din in the streets afterwards.  and then everyone goes to the bars to toast the win or drown their sorrows.  I was only in Barcelona once, for 2 weeks, but I totally miss it.  one day I'm going to go back.  one day...

Last week's Big Love was great, btw.

I'm going to go try to open a new bank account at the university credit union and hope against hope that they don't run my credit history and laugh in my face.

I'm going to hang out at work, probably not do any real work, until 8, grab some food, head out to visit my friends in their big house, probably cry at them for awhile, that is unless I get the phone call I want in which case I will probably fly around the house and tweet at them for awhile, because I may actually become a bird out of happiness.  But probably I'll end up crying at them.

Well, now I looked at those pictures of Myshkin, I might cry at them even if I do get the phone call.  Which I won't.  So I'm going to be crying at them anyway.

I'm going to try to get some work done and tally up some overtime, but I will probably end up goofing off on the internet for most of the time I'm here.

I have a 96-page manuscript to proofread. I'll probably stay here until kicking out time to do it.

I'm basically writing off this entire week as unproductive due to the heat.

I can't get anything done right now unless it's in my office or after midnight. Oh well. Three more weeks till I'm out of here for... an equally hot and humid city!

I should've already left my house if I really intended to get to the bookstore before work. . . looks like I'll have to run out during my lunch break to pick up Harry Potter.  Also, my schedule only overlaps awful new girl by four hours, so I get to spend most of the day without her.  I'll leave my knife at home, just to be safe.  (I'm sure I could kill her with scissors, anyhow, if it comes to it.)

. . . and today's quote of the day:
Quote
We hate some persons because we do not know them; and we will not know them because we hate them.
  - Charles Caleb Colton
*sigh*  Yes, life, I know, but seriously, she's like walking evil and she makes us all miserable--why on earth would I want to get to know her?  (stop thinking about it)
