Cutting your own hair is great! Even if I've still not done it. I was going to go into town to buy a wheelie suitcase for my US/Canada trip, which is very exciting because how often do you ever get to buy a suitcase and not just inherit one from your family? But now I have horrible period pains that make walking seem like a really stupid idea so I'm going to stay here until the ibuprofen kicks in and, if it doesn't, I'm going back to bed until this afternoon.

Oh, I bought a set of suitcases once, and it made me feel like a grownup.

My godparents, who I haven't seen in a couple of years, are visiting from Texas, and my cousin is with them.  I haven't seen him since I was a kid.  So I guess it's a family reunion of sorts.  Anyhow, my cousin is staying at a hotel (he's here on business) but my godparents are in their camper with their two rather large dogs, parked on my mom's driveway.  (Don't ask--pretty much my entire family could be described as "quirky".)  They were supposed to arrive tomorrow, but showed up a day early.  We're supposed to go out to dinner tomorrow.  I'm looking forward to seeing everyone, actually, even though I hate the "so what are you doing?" sorts of questions.  My more immediate plans, however, are "go to bed".

I started Lawrence of Arabia. I love this movie so much. I kind of wish I hadn't promised to meet friends later tonight so I could just get all comfy and watch movies tonight, but we're supposed to meet at 10:00. I figure if I get there by 11:00, I won't be the first one there, waiting for everyone.

Right, so new plans. . . since the main person I was going out with just canceled, and I don't want to go out anyhow and hang out with people who are primarily his friends, and since I smudged my nails answering the phone, I guess I'll open a beer, finish Lawrence, take off the nail polish, maybe watch another movie.

So I can't decide what I want to do. Do I:

a) Smoke a bowl, walk to nice market I never go to and buy beer and half and half, get ice cream on the way back (even though I have maybe two bucks on me)

b) Smoke a bowl, walk to Trader Joe's, get beer and half and half (beer won't be cold, ew.)

c) Smoke a bowl, jerk off, and worry about getting cream tomorrow (no coffee when I get up, ew.)

Well, I ended up going with a modified version of A. I couldn't wear the new crocs cuz it was wet out, but I went out and shot and walked to the coffee shop cuz I didn't want to bother to get cash and they take plastic. They didn't have any ice cream, but I got an ice blended coffee beverage and then walked to the other grocery store and got a lot of awesome beer. Now I'm downloading my pics from my camera and drinking other beer while I wait for the beer I just bought to chill.

I understood that part of the virtue of Crocs is that they're rubber-like and good for the outdoors.

Okay, I probably could have worn the crocs, but I wore them yesterday and my foot got wet in parking lot puddle. PARKING. LOT. PUDDLE. Plus, the little buttons that keep the straps on have been irritating my feet, so I had to opt for the modded superfly red chuck hightops.

But yeah, I got some awesome beer. And the fact that there is awesome beer to be found in my neighborhood, only a scant 1.6 mile walk from my apartment, tells me that I need to walk more.

success! This is big because the last time I drove was the morning after Zoop with Greg and Fenster. I ran over a median! This one was relatively incident free, despite the many piles of rubble that had accumulated for the apocalyptic storms that were surrounding me.
