Speaking of remembering embarrassing thing, I should have noted this in my (re)introduction.

I haven't updated in quite a long time. I should take care of that soon.

It's NSFW if you can't tell by the URL.

I never saw it.  Which is a shame, as we're both members of the very exclusive "I've Shown My Bare Ass On LPTJ" Club.

Dr. Bob is, too! I feel like it's okay for me to remember that because he keeps saying mean things about my boyfriend's family in the photographs thread.  Razz

So I've decided to dedicate my five hundredth post to introducing myself. Hi, everybody!

Name: Arlo
Age: 36
Seven bands you like: Bowie, Costello, Will Oldham, The Hold Steady, Spoon, Ted Leo, Springsteen
A favorite movie: I'd like to say A Moment of Innocence, but I'm going to say Big Trouble in Little China instead.
A favorite book: Remembrance of Things Past. Seriously. Best book ever. And then the Critique of Pure Reason and then the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Favorite Comic Book: Never really read no comix. Ghost World was a fine film, if that counts.
Which Outsider would you want to share a studio apartment with? Never read it. Never saw Goonies, either.
Skills/hobbies: I do crazy amounts of yoga these days, but that's not really a hobby, because I only do it because I am very, very old (see above) and have to stay thin and gorgeous somehow. Most of my entertainment is passive - listening to music, watching movies & TV-on-DVD, on bit of a sabbatical from reading... Does drinking count as a hobby?
Skills/hobbies you wish you had: I kinda don't understand the question.
Last CD you bought: Most recently ordered = Tokumaro Shugo L.S.T., most recently received = Marnie Stern In Advance of the Broken Arm.
Was it good? Yes, they both are.
Best popsicle flavor: Honestly, I think I'll pass on the popsicles.
Favorite instrument: I don't play, but I think it's impossible to have a truly unlistenable song if there's a banjo in it.
Favorite word: In my first year English class, we had to write a review of a story about a man who threw himself from a window, and one of my greatest regrets in life was failing to use the word "defenestrate" in what God clearly intended as my only legitimate opportunity. I'll make myself a second chance now, and pretend my favourite word is "defenestrate".
Favorite word for kiss: Tonsil hockey
Picture: I live in a world almost entirely without photographs (which is odd, since professionally I am building a multimedia research repository, which you'd think would include photos, them being all multimedia and like that), so I don't have one to offer. Sorry.

I'm kind of bored and waiting for my pill to kick in before bed, so I think I'll update this.

Name: Mike
Age: 25
Seven bands you like: Gang of Four, Shellac, Stereolab, Sonic Youth, Ramones, Orbital, Can
A favorite movie: Wings of Desire
A favorite book: Slaughterhouse-Five.
Favorite Comic Book: Raw. I never really got into mainstream comics. Except for X-men, but the storyline was so convoluted by the time I got to it that my attention waned quickly.
Which Outsider would you want to share a studio apartment with? From Wikipedia (mostly because I needed a memory jog) Keith "Two-Bit" Mathews, 18 and a half: He has been known as "Two-Bit" for so long that even his teachers have forgotten that his real name is Keith. Two-Bit is the joker of the gang, always smiling and cracking jokes. Like Sodapop, he lives for action and fun. Though nearly 19 years old, Two-Bit is still a junior in high school because he finds school "entertaining." We'd probably smoke a lot of grass.
Skills/hobbies: Once again, does drinking count as a hobby? I'm an amateur beer connaisseur. I like noodling with computers. All my other hobbies pretty much turned into what I like to consider my "career".
Skills/hobbies you wish you had: Reading. Physical fitness.
Last Vinyl you bought: Terraform.
Was it good? In the audiophile world, they call it "reference quality".
Best popsicle flavor: Orange.
Favorite instrument: Ableton Live.
Favorite word: "Fuck"
Favorite word for kiss: "Snog"

Welcome! I remember being impressed by "Werckmeister Harmonies", even if I hardly remember anything about the movie now.

I'm a big Bela Tarr fan either way, but the movie just knocked my socks on my ass. I enjoyed the book ("the Melancholy of Resistance") in a completely different way, but Tarr's film straight killed it. My only complaint is it being dubbed from Hungarian into German (I think?) - there are many scenes where it feels like you're watching a Godzilla movie.
