Do you ever hang around the house, feeling vaguely like something's missing, and then suddenly realize, "I have ice cream in the freezer!"? I love that.
Yes! Except I call it "white chocolate." And it's usually half-melted in the cupboard rather than in the freezer...

I'm going to New York on Tuesday night! Oh, happiness.
And while it sucked we weren't able to meet up with Miles -- are you okay, man? -- I did have fun hanging out with Whit yesterday. Even if he made me buy some film theory/history books (which, yeah, I wanted and/or needed, and the total was under 12 bucks for three of 'em)!

I'm going to an amusement park tomorrow. Guess what is at the amusement park? A LIGER. Yes, that's right, there is a liger there! Apparently it was reared entirely by humans, and isn't scared of us at all, so I might actually be able to PET it.
PET A LIGER.
YES.

Actually, I've been thinking about that, and I totally regret "making" you buy the Rabonivitz book, because I kind of want it for myself. I'll give you the $4 for it!
And yeah, Miles . . .?

Oo, a profit of 55 cents!
And milesofsparks, I will e-mail you tomorrow, if that is all right. Oh, I mean, today for you. Um, Friday, that is. But not the Friday you're talking about! I think! The 27th! Okay!

So wait, is that a yes? I've been waiting five hours for a response, and now I have to go to bed, but with any luck I'll wake up to a deal having been made. Or not. I'm not even sure why I'm so hung up on the damn book, somehow I convinced myself that it holds the key, to what I don't know.

Heh, I like that I've apparently messed with your head for the past five hours, and entirely unintentionally. Sure, it's yours. And I'll give it to you FOR FREE, or kind of, because I still owe you for gas, dude.

Not that $4.50 is enough to cover all the gas, of course. But seeing how I made you do that outrageous loop around Silver Lake/Los Feliz, I should at least pay you back with women, power, and politics, right? And maybe a touch of the New York avant-garde cinema, too?

I'd probably be happy enough just being paid in women. That other stuff is icing on the cake. But sweet! Can I at least burn you a CD or something?
And Bethany, congrats. The last time I moved it was one of those double-renting-for-two-weeks kind of affairs, but it didn't really ease my stress because I waited until about the 29th to even consider the need for boxes to pack stuff into.

I just found MC Solaar on this here shared iTunes library, and MC Solaar is this French rapper who I believe our French teacher in high school introduced us to to in an effort to seem hip and speak the language of the kids, and I haven't thought about all this in years, and also I minored in French and after years of not speaking or practicing it I can still translate it and understand what he is rapping about! Pretty much! Like when he says "Solaar vous invite de ce rap party" he is inviting you, the listener, to a rap party! And it is either "vous" because there is more than one of you or he is using "vous" as the formal because he has not made his introduction to you yet and is not familiar with you! MY TEN YEARS OF STUDYING FRENCH HAVE NOT BEEN COMPLETELY INVALIDATED
WAIT
also mp3:
MC Solaar, "RMI"

Our firm let's the clerks that we have working for the summer throw a party at the end of the season every year.
I just got emailed the invite for this years. They usually do it on a Thursday, but this year they're doing it on a Friday, which is sooooo much better!
They're generally crazy as hell. They have it at our downtown office where we have this huge, hand-carved wooden bar that was imported from Ireland (or maybe Wales, I can't remember), and we have this massive balcony 15 stories up.
I've been in years past and it's always been a complete blast, but now that I'm a law student it should be interesting.

I have been working my ass off all weekend. I've been riding the momentum that three weeks of structured work gave me and now I'm actually busting some serious ass. I'm kind of getting sick of sitting in front of a computer, though. Maybe I should eat something and then head towards the coffee shop?
