For the past two years or so, I had been operating under the idea that my friend's stepmother was the nicest woman in the world. Just, ever.
And then last night I met HER mother! She doesn't speak any english and just spent a solid fifteen minutes stroking my face, patting my head, smiling, saying happy sounding things in chinese, and then giving me more hugs and kisses. Because she had HEARD that I was a good friend to her step-grandsons. She also kept making me eat in between hugs.
I just really like knowing that people with that much love in them exist! And that they are raising other people! Amazing ones!

I got to snuggle the babies tonight. Their mommy is trying to turn them against us, but one is totally sweet, and while one is completely terrified, the third engaged in the age old kitten tradition of climbing onto my shoulder, then my back, and then not knowing how to get down. I love them.

I'm goin' on strike!
To be honest, I don't really care about our contract all that much, but I'm all for helping out my blue-collar brethren, and also for getting some god damn time off of work for once.
Also, I'm gonna get to quote newsies SO MUCH. Finally!

On strike? Really? I've never even internet known someone who was going on strike before. I'm probably romanticizing it, but it seems like it would be kind of cool. Keep us posted.
I just found out my cousin is moving to Florida! I'm not sure where exactly, but my mom told me about it a few days ago, and I just got a MySpace message from my cousin saying she's moving to south Florida. She's my age, and we always got along well, so it'll be really nice to be able to hang out with every so often again. Plus, that'll make her my second nearest relative!

are
great- the only part of your body that you can make disappear simply by standing up.

I am in San Francisco with my best friend after a, uh, satisfying weekend with my ex-boyfriend in Berkeley. We are going to the Mission shortly to get cheap, giant burritos for brunch/lunch/whatever. Life is gooooood. My desire to relocate to the west coast is once more rekindling. Oh well, maybe in two years?

I'm kinda glad that after staying awake for the entire night 2 nights ago, I seem to be on a somewhat normal sleep schedule, at least last night I was. I slept 11 hours though, so I may not be able to sleep 'til real late tonight.

another call for an interview this afternoon
cash money obtained in the meantime from Half Price Books and I am finally rid of the Jeff Buckley pictorial that I was all embarrassed that I owned
new jeans purchased for one dollar and ninety nine cents with above cash money and they are especially excellent because:
1. they are for short ladies
2. while waiting for the bus to go home from Half Price Books I discovered that there was a rip in a very sensitive and visible place in the ones I was wearing
3. I look pretty good

As I was going to The Cure last night I decided to take Wednesday off work. I thought it may turn into a big night. As it was I was home by 1. But I'm spending the day home with the house to my self, eating snack foods, drinking red wine, listening to music as loud as I want, and pretty much acting like I'm unemployed. It's quite lovely.
