No such thing as too many photos of Ireland, right?
On the bus to Tralee.
Michael (our host in Tralee) lighting a fire in Dick Mack's pub in Dingle.
We got some nicer weather - and some great skies - in Co. Waterford.
Morgan on the beach. We were staying in the house on the cliff (the one on the left).
The sunset, from the sitting room.
Abandoned mine near Bunmahon.
The Comeragh Mountains.
Back in Dublin, in my favourite cafe.
I think the smile has something to do with the quality of the carrot cake.
Fun times.

They're a married band (except for one of them). They're organized. The rehearsal I was at, they sat down and planned their practice days for like the next month or so.

Yeah, having 2 jobs and a wife and a band, it's a good idea to keep yr schedule straight.
But yeah, I'm a little impressed myself that we were able to pull together a CD & t shirts in time for our first show--which we're playing for free, so this might help us go home with a little scratch.
The drummer designed the shirts. They are pretty badass.

Your friends look awesome.

Dr. B - Damnit. I now really need to go to the south of Ireland again, especially around Dingle.
Here is me and friends in Dick Mack's about three years ago. That was one quality pub.
Edit : Just for reference I am the chap with the whisky.

Here is me and friends in Dick Mack's about three years ago. That was one quality pub.
Quality, true, but I think I prefer Foxy John's around the corner. In the same vein, but it's still a working shop along with the bar- when I was there last year (watching England go out of the World Cup, if I'm not mistaken), a man came in with his son to buy 4 packs of sheep dip and a box of nails just behind these pints:
Later, during the penalties, a middle aged Scottish woman attempted to set me up with her daughter (Natalie) who was off drinking in another pub, while I was drunkenly writing flirty texts to the woman's husband from my phone (on her behalf, I should add).

This is a poor-quality photo of 15-year-old me entertaining my friends with an emulator. I don't know what I was playing, but I can it was an emulator by the way my hands are positioned.
I thought I'd share that for some reason?

I'll spare you the exhaustive recounting of my weekend but I was in and around Quincy for my family's yearly hog roast. I know some of you aren't too keen on the consumption of swine but I do know that the hogs Ronnie (my stepfather) gets are raised by small local operations and not the big factory farms. You trust this guy don't you? Also he has a pretty awesome mustache.
So anyway my family's farm is out on some gravel roads outside of a very small town in Missouri, which is chiefly known for being near another very small but slightly larger town. The nearest neighbor is 2.5 miles away. You have to drive on a bunch of these to get there:
So to not overwhelm our veggie brethren here are a couple of vegetarian pics. Fresh-fried potato chips
Roasted cabbage
A blurry shot of my (completely awesome) homemade salsa
Also we have some pretty awesome old tractors at the farm and I get to drive them sometimes, woo!
Hope you all had a good holiday weekend too.

Jim, is that cabbage put in tin foal and roasted between the coals while the meat roasts? That is one of the ways how we do vegetables in SA at barbeques.

Yeah that's what it is. One year he did some onions that way as well, they were amazing.
In addition to the fried potatoes there were fried biscuits. Fried biscuits are crispy golden happiness. I also brought many friends and some fine homebrewed beer and everyone brought food and it was just a good time.
I'm sorry to have posted such crappy photos. I wish I were a better photographer with a better camera. I love that photo of the pints of Guinness lined up on the bar; it's beautiful. I understand from more well-traveled friends that Guinness in Ireland is a far different thing than the Guinness we get here in the States, which is a mediocre stout at best. We drank some of my plain old brown ale at the hog roast and it is tastier than American Guinness. I hope someday to drink some Guinness in Ireland and find out the difference.
