About 20 minutes before the new year John posts this up. Cool.

Huehueteotl is the Aztec god of fire and personification of the north star, in case anybody is wondering. He came down once every 52 years, where his spirit was renewed by human sacrifice by immolation.

I'd let someone else make the first real guess at wtf it actually means. Currently I'm thinking that it might be talking about how popular music allows for perfect observation of some subject, normally within well set author-defined borders, and what happens to the author when the observation and communication which is popular music's ra/AEson d'/(TM)tre (even if what is observed is completely artificial) extends further than the author would want. When the persona of the artist overtakes the person himself. But I'm listening to Joy Division right now, so I would say that.

I'm struggling to see how it isn't fanfic, except perhaps in John's relationship to the people he's writing about. I doubt he did this out of a fit of hero-worship, if that is what you mean.
