i don't know about blaming it on kerry. he was probably standing on the stage thinking "wtf is going on out there?" on the other hand, dude definitely brought it on himself. i think the cops over-reacted, and i definitely think he shouldn't have been messed with by cops at all, but the kind of blatant resistance of arrest that he was offering was fucking stupid. i sure wouldn't act that way while being physically restrained by cops unless i was already completely reconciled to being beaten up by said cops.

then again, i know this seems cynical, but maybe he HAD reconciled himself to that, and acted that way on purpose just to get attention for his cause and to make the cops and the university (and i guess john kerry) look bad.
