I'm not an internet person. How do I put one of my photos on here? Do I have to upload them somewhere first? I tried sticking my memory card into the modem, but that didn't seem to work.

that is seriously awesome dp.  did you paint that?

Nope, but the name of the artist is Emilio Perez. A guy that gave a lecture here mentioned him along with Deborah Kass and Oliver Warden as being up and coming painters. Apparently psych is hot in painting right now. About damn time.

You can find more of his work at: http://www.galerielelong.com/

the photos have to be hosted somewhere. photobucket.com does free hosting, that's who i use. anyway, you get the pics onto your hard drive, go to photobucket and sign up for an account, then upload the pics to your photobucket account. then come back here, and post the url of the image inbetween these tags:
Code:
[img]url goes here[/img]
. assuming you did everything right, we should see your picture.

Thanks Andrew. This is from a temple above the fine Indian town of Jodhpur. Yes, it is where jodhpurs were invented.

Jake, my new housemate, cleaning out the shed last night.

(I was trying out the non-flash night time settings on my fancy new camera- reasonably pleased, I was.)

Because I have hiccups and therefore am disinclined to look for the creativity thread -- how's that for an excellently bad reason?! Yeah!

I was in India last year doing some volunteer stuff, teaching English. I had a couple of months to travel. And I just remembered it was in Jaipur, not Jodhpur.  I was fooled by the blue houses below (Jodhpur is the fabled blue city), but Jaipur's really only pink in the centre. The photo was at the imaginatively named Galta (Monkey Temple). The monkeys look friendly, yeah?  Oh, no. Vicious bastards the lot of them. Here's another couple of Galta.

The middle photo is really, really, beautiful. It's kind of soft, but there's also something haunting about it. I think it's the lighting. Got a real solar-eclipse, day-becomes-night kind of feel to it, what with the lamp-post, and the silhouettes, and the cloudiness. Makes me feel like I'm looking at ghosts.

The skeleton-dancing one is disturbing. Good tits.

Where do you get these?

I... probably should have mentioned that it's not a work-safe site.  Unless you work in a cave like me and there's nobody likely to be looking over your shoulder.
