Yea, I'm not gonna say the strike isn't fair, I just want to have an adventure!  An adventure in scabbing.

How did you get my cousin's BM video?

Seriously though, my gf's set up for

1)  And "iPod" themed Bar Mitzvah.
2)  A Bar Mitzvah where the dad and son made their entrance via zip line.

There are more hilarious ones but I can't think of them right now.

No shit, I had a BREAKDANCING BAT MITZVAH party. Only it was B'klyn 1984, so it was actually unironic and kewl. A DJ from a real crew, cardboard on the floor.

so i'm new to this city and don't know too many people yet so i'm at home watching tv on a friday night drinking cc royal reserve and one of the onle 4 channels i get is A-channel who just showed a doc of a women's 65+ (avg age 72!) basketball team playing in the 2005 masters games in edmonton. no other teams in their age class showed up so they played 50 and 55+ teams from michigan and albuquerque and australia and got their asses handed to them but won an honorary gold medal cuz  they were the oldest team in the world, literally, and i cried like a baby when marg snapped her forearm diving for a looose ball in the 2nd game.

i don;t know why i'm telling you this cept for i'm drunk and thought you all should know that there are old ladies out there willing to dive on the floor to keep a possession alive and break bones in the process and who still felt like she 'let the team down' when she had to leave the game.

goddamn that is the essence righ there.

now they're showing breakfast of champions which i rememebr as a horrible interpretation of the book, but for which i have high hopes, cause its been a long time and sometimes bad movies are better when youfr drunk and how can you fuck up something as awesome as breakfast as champions anyways?

there are some serious unironic breakdancers who practice on a corner of the track at the park down the street most weekend nights, all on the dl.  it is awesome, like 1984 all over again.

also, died trying, that is, well, wow.  what city are you new to?

SNL's next show is NBC news anchor Brian Williams and Feist (?)

what the hell.  first of all, brian williams is not an actor.  he's not funny, even when they drag him on the Daily Show or elsewhere and give him soft-pitch straight man jokes.  fact is, i kinda hate the dude.  he's got the smarmy gravelly voiced faux serious of the 'respected' newsman, without any kind of personality about him.  and feist just seems a weird musical guest to tack on that.

It just keeps getting better, too. (Although the Hamlet song is my favorite.)

When did breakdancing become ironic?  I didn't know about this.

I have some friends who breakdance back in Milwaukee, for real.  They are serious about it, and they're really damn good.
