Someone linked me to a youtube clip of Gossip Girl just to point out that a character mentions getting pierogis at Veselka.

Also, Saracen is like, 24 or something, so you're in the clear.  I recall reading a hilarious interview once where he talked about feeling like a perv making out with Julie, who is actually 16 or something.

Julie and Landry are the only ones even close to their characters' ages.

I am fucking fucked up right now

Should I

A) give FNL a go

B) give 30 Rock a go

C) just continue watching the third season of the Wire because it's the most brilliant narrative ever put to film

C) if you want the best option and don't mind getting depressed.
B) if you want the next-best option and you want to laugh a lot.
A) if you've exhausted the other two options and are still looking for a great season of a television show (jury's still out on season 2)

Also, I've discovered the magic on TV on the internet, and have started exploring shows.  Thus far, I've explored The Big Bang Theory, Pushing Daisies, and Ugly Betty.  I made it through about 5 minutes of Ugly Betty.  I've watched every episode of The Big Bang Theory that is online.  I like it.  I think Pushing Daisies is a little brilliant.  I wouldn't be surprised if it's not too popular, but I like the Guy Noir meets Beetlejuice meets Kristen Chenoweth thing that's going on.  I've watched the first two episodes so far, and I love it.

I wasn't saying it's *bad* per se, just that it's unbelievably twee.  Your tolerance for that sort of thing will decide your tolerance for the show.

Personally I think it's an OK show that's improved the last couple episodes.

Oh, God, Office fans, I'm so sorry:

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, NBC may be about to pay a major compliment to Grey's Anatomy. Multiple sources confirm to me exclusively that the Peacock is developing an episode of The Office that would introduce several new characters who would then be spun off into a new series à la Private Practice.

However, unlike Practice, which stole Grey's regular Kate Walsh to anchor the new series, the proposed Office 2 is not expected to include any of the mother ship's core cast. In fact, producers are already casting about for a "name" to headline the potential show.

What a terrible fucking idea.

Eh.  I dunno, I said that when the concept of an American version of The Office was first proposed.  Seems like it has sort of neutral chances of being good or bad.

Yeah, but NBC's "more more more more Office" strategy has not been paying off thus far.

Plus even if they don't take any of the actors I'm sure they'll plunder the writer's room.

Odds are better than even this will result in two OK shows instead of one good show.

That's only really true of BJ Novak.  They have a writers just like any other show.

actually, i just read an article the other day where they talked to three different office characters that are played by main writers on the show. granted, two of them were somewhat minor characters, but still.
