I am so behind on entertainment news! What's the release date?
And I haven't watched Firefly because... because... well, I found the first five minutes of the first episode boring, and then I got sucked into watching something else. I shall return soon enough.

July 25, 2008!
nny, it was out on DVD back when they first started putting TV shows on DVD, but it went out-of-print. They just re-released it.
edit: hells yeah they're filming in Vancouver and not LA!
also the first five minutes of "Firefly" are pretty much nothing like the rest of the show.

the first season, what with the mid-90s hair and overalls because overalls were for some reason a fashion thing then
good grief, yes. do you not remember that? or did you block it out or something? girls wore overalls, especially short overalls, ALL THE TIME in the 90s. pretty much starting right at the beginning of the decade, as i remember.

this makes sense. brandon's dvds of mscl are in 5 separate single-disc packages that are all in a box set, rather than the single-package-with-multiple-discs that they do now. apparently he paid $100 for it then. it's $45 on amazon now.

Hannah, maybe we should watch Firefly together. I can't get into it but Richard won't drop it. Every night it's like, "So... are we going to watch Firefly?"

i still can't get over this.
Creed (from the Office) was in the 60s group that sang "Sha la la la live for today."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuuVIJ1hnOM
from the story
http://www.stereogum.com/archives/video/the-scrantones-cover-radiohead.html#more
He's easily one of my favorite characters on the show, and on the episode where Michael outs Oscar, he has one of those fake interviews where he's like "i have no problem with anyone being gay. i had a lot of sex in the 60s with multiple partners, and its possible a guy slipped in there" which was kind of funny, and fit his character - but finding out he actually was a 60s musician, makes his character even more amusing.

Re: The Wire
I'm pretty sure I know how Omar's gonna go. Count on Michael getting him about 3/4 of the way through next season.

Ah never mind, I remember:
I don't know if they ever say if they got him on more charges, but the parole violation means he's in for at least the last 4 years of his original sentence. So he's still in prison barring a time-jump.

It's not just a re-release. I mean, it is, but the old release had no extras and the new one has a ton of extras.

Yeah, don't count on seeing Avon on the street again. It was preposterous enough that he got out in se. 3. Though not quite so preposterous as Omar's relationship with Bunk and McNulty over the course of the series. Obstruct justice much? But yeah, Avon's gotta do at least the rest of his sentence. Maybe we'll see some more of him and Wee Bey?

Actual season 5 spoiler:
Yeah, Avon's going to be back for at least a couple episodes. Don't know about Weebay.

There are a few Office deleted scenes devoted to this, in which the real and fictional Creed overlap. Definitely Booze Cruise (Season 2), a mention in Product Recall (Season 3). Also, the Karaoke in Benihana Christmas (Season 3), Creed is singing his own song, "Spinnin' and Reelin'."

I am down for this, m'lady. And perhaps if we hate it we can at least discuss the relative attractiveness of each cast member. I like doing that.

Come to think of it, I don't really know a Firefly fan who hasn't done that.
