so, one of the things about children's books, is the value of the person actually reading the book with them, right? And a movie adaptation is the opposite thing- tv babysitter stuff.
That's one thing I don't like. Pissed off.

Unless this is aimed at grown ups, who wish they were children.
Still Pissed off.

Fucking fuck. Apparently, I have HALF of O Lucky Man! waiting to be watched. You see how it says "disc 2 bonus disc" THAT'S A DIRTY LIE, NETFLIX! Fucking hell. The first disc is an hour and a half of the movie. The rest of the movie is on the second disc. This fails to make me happy.

Last night my lady was like "I want to watch Hocus Pocus. Out of sheer curiosity, I did a Pirate Bay search. An hour later, we were watching the movie.

The internet is goddamned awesome

I've got Sweet Movie & Addio Uncle Tom waiting at home for me should I ever get the chance to actually watch them.

If I do I'm sure I'll be back here cursing Whit's name...  Wink

Netflix came through. Despite the fact that disc 2 of O Lucky Man! was on short wait status, it should be arriving today, so that's something. Also, I was at Target looking for cheap dvds. I didn't come away with a great haul, but they did have Pan's Labyrinth for $10, so I bought it. I really love that movie!

I just watched Haneke's Hidden for the second time this week. Even better th second time for some reason. Are his other films worth tracking down people?

Stalker Moment of the Day for Friday, October 26, 2007
girl, you will be happy to know that I am rectifying one of my greatest failures as a man and watching Cool Hand Luke for the first time this weekend.
According to Netflix, you've returned this movie. Any opinions?

I saw Dan in Real Life with mom. It was ok. Before the movie, during the commercials, there was this music video for The Marines or something. I swear, it was at least 20 minutes long. WTF, movies?!

Stalker Smile

It was good, I'm not sure what to say about it.  I identified with the character a lot, at least how he said he never planned anything in his life.  I'm not sure I'm quite as awesomely stubborn as he was but probably close.  I do think I could probably eat 50 eggs though.  In like, 3 days or something.

Just watched and, while I'm not familiar with the exact historical details pertaining to this topic (adf to thread?), I think I can safely say this is a fairly early example of a movie in which the protagonist plays a piano with his penis.

Ooh! That's in my queue. I'm not sure why. Either Netflix suggested it, or I was shopping in Whit's queue again.

It was really funny when I wasn't drifting out. I'd like to see it again when I'm not so tired.

I haven't seen it yet, but it is indeed in the queue--I got all revved up about Seijun Suzuki a while ago, but totally failed to follow through.

Though, yeah, I would suspect that was ahead of the curve in the history of pianist penises.

Bonjour Tristesse arrived. I didn't mean to rent it right now. I'm still sad about Deborah Kerr's death in real life. But somehow it made its way to the top of my Netflix queue. Anyhow, this movie always seems to get lumped into the category of 50's melodramas, and I guess it does have some of the characteristics of the genre, but I really loved it. Jean Seberg is so beautiful, and, you know, Deborah Kerr.
