I should go to bed, but I'm having too much fun being tipsy and singing at the top of my lungs.

everybody was driving to their parents' house.

by which i mean, that's what i was doing.

I worked all day, then after work I had a second interview fot that other retail job (did I telll you about the first interview? I think i did) Then I went shopping, , now I'm here drinking and reading and posting. . .

Hi.

Aah.  See, we don't have Thanksgiving at all.  And I forget that it's the one holiday of the year in the US that most everyone gets into.

Hope you're all having / had fun.  I feel a productive day coming on.

One more class, and then lots of food!  And karaoke after that!  I feel a good night coming on.

I know for a fact, sir, that you are being disingenuous.

It is snowing indeed.

You caught me.  I was going to throw mistletoe, green beer and backyard sparklers in there too, but I thought it was plenty implausible already.

It started snowing last night when I was waiting for the bus, and it was quite beautiful. Then I had to go to the grocery store and pick up some last-minute things and walking back it got really windy and the snow wasn't quite so beautiful any longer.

Yeah, I had to drive home in the rain and apparently Chicago doesn't know how to handle rain, so it took me 45 minutes to get home whereas it normally takes me 10 and then I had to go to the produce place and the wind almost blew me away. Hooray, midwest!

JEB when are you coming to Chicago?

First snow day here, too. First day of cycling in the snow after work, probably. The exhilaration of facing death-by-traffic-accident squarely, without blinking. Winter is an exciting time.

Hey ah Campbell, you coming down to Gemmas at like 3ish? Dave is still making up his mind, so text him and tell him we kick his scarred, skinny, just-got-out-of-hospital ass if he doesnt come over.

because I'm perhaps going blind I couldn't find the neutral thread. If I had found it I would have said that I feel neutral over the fact I've just had my last lecture until the new year, and that adding to that neutrality I'm down to work 19 twelve hour shifts over the christmas period.

I wonder how you all are.

that's pretty hardcore. i'm hoping that by "the christmas period" you're talking about at least a month-long period and not the amount of time i usually think of as being the christmas period, but even so it's still a fuck of a lot of shifts.

i'm preparing for an open day our team are holding to promote ourselves to the rest of the world. it's pretty dull work to be doing. i'm also talking shit about guitars and eating a mince pie. i don't feel particularly festive.

I'm eating christmas cake! Not feeling that festive either, but I made the cake with my friends kids who I'm babysitting this evening.Maybe we'll make mince pies next time around. You could promote yourselves by giving away free mince pies.

When I say christmas period I mean my schools break, which is from this weekend until the 7th of January. When exams start and I'll have to cut way back on hours for a little while. I'm just happy to have something to focus on. My boss asked me if I'd play Santa on Christmas day, as I'm going to be the only male member of staff on duty for the whole day. I'm thinking about, by which I mean I'm thinking of how to broach the subject of equal oppitunities for women to be Santa, and also wondering why a place where the youngest patient is in their late sixties there's any need for a santa.
