And I'm in Rhode Island, where I just discovered I have internet access in my hotel room, AND I get to meet girl tomorrow! But alas, I can't sit here and post up a storm, because I need sleep so very badly--I had to get up at 3am today to get a ride to the airport, and it's been constant transit ever since.

Blech. I just finished a 13 hour day capped with another couple of hours of writing class proposals and getting my CV straight so I can remain in Shangri-La over the summer. And tomorrow's another 13 hour day.

So my Grandma left me a message on my phone last night to the effect of: "Hi this is Grandma the FBI came by my office today and I really need to talk with you tonight if at all possible love you bye."

Two hours of flipping the fuck out later I get hold of her and she tells me it's some dude trying to give me career advice. 

This shit is always hilarious in retrospect, but not so much when it's happening.

Speaking of messages from family:  I had a message on my answering machine the other day from my sister, directing me to call her voice-mail system; apparently, there was a message she received that she wanted me to hear.

So I called up her voice-mail, and listened to the message.  It was from a manager at her local grocery store, thanking her for her customer comment card.  As per her suggestion on the customer comment card, the store put more detailed labels on their peppers.

i always kinda wondered if it was also a reference to black flag/misfits drummer robo, who has to be the polar opposite, in musician terms, of robbie robertson. but i guess maybe not.
