My first exposure since Twin Peaks was Mullholland Drive. Which seemed to REALLY think highly of itself

At the time, it was the ONLY thing on TV that didn't suck so very deeply.
Except
Northern Exposure

Also ppl here are giving
Twin Peaks
a far worse rap than it deserves, even its defenders. I hate a lotta Lynch, but S1 of
Twin Peaks
is completely unfuckwithable, and S2, even with all it's cheese, is still pretty great all the way through, with the exception of just one really, really, really terrible storyline.

But WHY? WHY? Nothing happens! It just seems like everyone's cheating on everyone and they're trying WAY too hard to link all the stories. I'm liking this less and less the more I think about it.

The reality show about Bruce Jenner's family is seriously terrible.
Entertaining, but terrible.

So, should I be upset about the fact I've not seen any of the new series of Friday Night Lights? Or should I just take it on the chin and wait until I can steal someone's broadband again?

Take it on the chin because the first couple were spotty so it'll be good to catch up in a block.

So is this taking the place of the prequel series thingy that was gonna happen, or is this separate?

Hey I'm home sick too. Well, home because my gf is sick and was up till 5 vomiting.
Nny, they are separate things but the prequel series is looking like it won't happen.

I was looking forward to it, 'cause the premise struck as being similar to a lot of classic Cardassian literature.

Then it would turn out the entire run of BG was just a Cardassian father reading his children bedtime stories.
Actually I think that's something that show would do.
Maybe use, like "Bad Moon Rising" at the end this time though.

That show is much better than it's given credit for; it's one of those consistently funny, consistently inoffensive sitcoms that I'll always watch and enjoy when it happens to be on, but I'll never go to the trouble of seeking out. In short, it's like everything that was on television (and especially on NBC) throughout the mid-to-late 90's.
Serial dramas are always going to be around, and always going to struggle in the ratings, but I really wish we had a whole bunch more bland-to-good sitcoms instead of so many reality shows and procedurals.

I watched a few episodes of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia with a friend of mine the other night. It can be obnoxious as hell, but I was cracking up pretty regularly.

Earl is all right, but I don't make a point of watching it.
Last night, I rented Freaks and Geeks disc one for old times' sake. I have the biggest crush on Bill, f'reals.

i saw an episode of it's always sunny in philadelphia yesterday also, and yeah, pretty funny.
my pick for bland-to-good sitcom currently airing is "how i met your mother". i don't seek it out, but when it's on, i generally get sucked in. pretty good actors in it, and it's pretty fucking funny most of the time too. i mean, for that sort of thing.
