okay, so my voice doesn't sound anything like this dude, but this is really good

yeah, i was thinking that when you posted it. but i think you and lungfish are kind of going for the same basic thing, so i can see why it would come out as "you sound like the guy from lungfish".

I don't have the album on hand right now (i.e., I'm too lazy to dig it up, but if you're truly dying for it, I could do so), but here's a live version from 1974, if that'll suffice.

Does anyone have Okkervil River's "title track" that they'd be willing to share?

Here it is. That's two YSI assists in a row for me. Does that mean that I pop in to LPTJ too often, or just that I really want to be helpful?

Long shot: 'Bicycle Song' by Kath Bloom and Loren MazzaCane Connors?

It came out in the early 1980s originally and was re-released a while back, but seems to be out of print.  There's an unlistenably wobbly mp3 on epitonic.com and a broken mp3 link on the label's site (megalon.com - now defunct?).

If the CD is still available I'd take a link to that instead as I'd be glad to buy it if possible.

Foxy Digitalis was apparently considering a full re-release of all their early '80s collaborations, but I've heard nothing of it yet.  Foxy- if you're reading, Do It!

For the Jason Molina nerds out there, here's the full-band version of "The Big Game Is Every Night," one of the songs left off of the Magnolia Electric Co, record. (It was, of course, on the demos for that record.) Don't know how something this brilliant gets left off, but there it is. It's the only song I know of that actually has the lyric "Mark Twain" in it, which is awesome. Great lyrics all-around on this song and album.

Is there any way to re-up that?  I heard Molina play this one at his Macrock 2002 show when he opted to play outside in the freezing cold instead of in a theatre which had oversold the show and was turning people away.  One of the best performances I've ever seen and I've never been able to track down the full band version of this.

The other NZers on this board may be helpful... difficult has the hip hop mix, and, Dr Bob, I think mr Sing The Children Over is likely to have the Loren/Kath Bloom thang, he's an afficionado, though mostly just lurking nowadays. A lurking afficionado. Makes me think of obsessive compulsive ninjas, for some reason.

i never got a copy of it because illest only put the full thing up as a torrent and i don't use torrents (and no, i don't want to--it would probably ruin my old-ass computer), so if anyone wants to post a copy, that would be awesome.

Thanks G.  They tell me patience is a virtue.  Time to test that theory, eh?

Or time to introduce myself to NZ?  I have an open invitation to WGTN that I should call in sometime.

Here it is.

You might want to doublecheck the running order, though. On my iPod it starts with Scarface, which isn't what Mr. Biggins says.

I'm pretty sure i have the Connors/ Bloom track somewhere, but it may take a wee while to get to put it up - on holiday, though I did bring the hard drive with all the music on it with  me. Gotta travel prepared! I do have most of the stuff of theirs. Yeah I heard word of re-issues of it all too - The Wire said sometime early this year.
Anyway maybe later today, hopefully
